The walk was slow and yet they had made their time, he had stayed by Kai and the others the whole time. He knew the fun would begin shortly, his eyes stayed ahead as they continued the blade rested in his hand. A few moments later they walked out of the area and he looked down and spotted three people, “there are the ones we want” he told them. He nodded and drew his blade as they came up behind them, they were busy looking for shelter it would seem he thought and grinned as he heard the young man try and take charge he smirked.
“You are a bit late little man, don’t worry this will be over soon” he sneered and gave a nod “Kitty and Sahalie, don’t disappoint us” he told them and nodded to Kai. They could take the two stronger ones, it was the third they would take together they had a numbers advantage here and he would make it work he thought and grinned as he watched the pack spread out. They would have a hard time escaping in this weather, it was time to take advantage.
“Don’t worry you will be joining your love bird from twelve soon” he told the young man and smirked. “We watched her, as she was burned alive…alone” he sneered at him his eyes cold as he held the sword ready.

Pre-Storm:
A canon erupted and reverberated through the arena. He figured it was the canon for Tyson. He had heard a few canons earlier, but he wasn't paying much attention as he was too busy throwing up. When he was running away from the bloodbath, he thought he heard 5 canons go off. Maybe 6. He wasn't sure. His own heartbeat was beating so hard it was drowning out everything else.
Lex hit the mutt square on. It let out a shake and whimper before turning on its side. The creature seemed to be dead, but Lex wasn't going to just turn his back on it. Walking up to the mutt, he held out his sword and poked it. The body had already begun to harden. As soon as Lex pulled his sword back, he began to throw up again. Chunks flew out of his mouth and onto the ground beside the mutt. His eyes moved over to his sword where he saw a goo of grey and red. Bile rose up to his mouth again as he heaved the last of his breakfast.
Lex threw up so fast and so much he thought he was going to faint. He ran towards some grass with fallen leaves. Picking up the leaves, he wiped off his sword as much as he could, fighting the need to have a mental breakdown. Then... He felt something happening, something changing.
He looked up at the sky, which seemed to be getting darker. He wasn't sure if it was all a trick or if it really was beginning to be night time already. He didn't even see the sun go down behind the horizon. Some kind of music began to play. Lex scrambled up and ran towards the Carousel, wondering if this was another one of the GameMaker's tricks. After a few seconds of the music playing, nothing came out at them. A hologram went up on the sky. The words "The Fallen" with Panem's symbol lit up the dark background of the sky. One by one, pictures of tributes with their District number was shown. First, it showed the District 1 male, then District 2 female, District 3 male and female, District 5 male, District 6 female, District 10 male, District 11 Male, District 11 female, and...
Lex's heart stopped. District 12 Female. Samantha. Her picture hovered in the sky for a few seconds before disappearing. Lex stood up, his hands reaching out to the sky as if he could fly up there and catch it, and stop it from disappearing into thin air. His eyes remained looking at the now dark and empty sky. It seemed as if all life was floating away from him. Casting his eyes down, his body felt weak, and his knees fell on the dirt. Lex remained in that position for what seemed like hours. At least in his mind it was nearing eternity. Samantha Colton. The girl he had grown up with. The girl whom he had just begun to get to know and understand. His mind raced back from when he was running out of the Cornucopia. He didn't know where she had gone, why she hadn't run out the door the same time he had. They were only a few feet away from each other.
No. It can't be true. It couldn't be. She had to be alive. She knew better. She KNEW BETTER! Lex pulled up his sword and stroke it into the ground. A loud, agonizing scream pierced through the calm and silent air. His hands went up to his head, as if trying to squeeze everything in. "WHY WHY WHY!" he screamed over and over as he kicked the carousel as hard as he could again, and again, and again, and again. His hand turned into fists before hitting one of the hard horse shaped things in the carousel. Lex pulled at it and punched it over and over and over until his knuckles bled. Stopping, he looked up at the sky wondering if the GameMakers could see him. "Please, please..." he said quietly though his mind pleaded in screams. "Bring her back!" he yelled as a thunder crashed and rolled over the arena.

As soon as the last echo of the thunder washed over, rain began to pour.
Lex only stood there. Letting the cold, icy drops of water wash over him. Then, picking up his sword, the canteen of water, and the package of food, he began to walk. He looked up at Torrence and Ambrosia. He wanted to be alone right now. And as much as his body tried to just walk away from them, he remained close by. "I saw a building with a clown face and mirror on the east end. Let's go there," he mumbled quietly as he walked. As far as anything went, Lex couldn't see or hear or feel anything out side of his body. All he could do was think about Samantha. He remembered their first kiss right outside of the school doors in District 12. He remembered the first time they both went outside of the border with Katniss. And how he had thrown up at the sight of dead animals, and how it didn't even seem to bother her at all. He thought about the times when he picked on her for not knowing how to cook or bake, and the times she's burned all the bread. He could see a mental picture of her house from his window. Just a few houses down. He smiled, remembering how he often teased her about watching him bathe outside on his silly horse trough. Her smile brightened up in his mind, her face was all that he could see. He could see her talking to him. Her voice slowly, softly, speaking to him. He remembered holding her hands when they got on the train to go to the Capitol. And the nights they spent talking to each other, and holding her.
Samantha Elaine Colton was the girl he loved. And even if she was gone. He still loved her. Lex felt a part of him die with her. He had promised himself he'd protect her. Promised himself that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. That he would lay his life down for her. But there he was alive. And she wasn't. A tear rolled down his cheek, and then another and another, but they blended in with the rain. He could feel the saltiness of them on his tongue.
Lex stopped, hearing voices through the rain. It was still a little dark, and the dark clouds covered up the sun. Lex put down his canteen and food, and hung on to his sword tightly. His lips tightened as he listened to the boy talk about Samantha. Anger rose up inside him as he gripped his sword. He, they, were responsible for Sam's death. If he had to die fighting, he would. But he refused to walk away from this. Another crash of thunder rolled across the arena. He would avenge Sam, and if he died, then at least he died fighting. There was no running away, no more being a coward.
Lex drew up his sword and looked at the four of them. Ambrosia, Lex and Torr were outnumbered. He tried to remember the best he could which ones weren't as strong. The Careers would be too much to handle for him alone. The other two girls though, they'd be easier to kill. He could go for the youngest one, but the other one was closer to him. He lunged forward towards the District 7 girl.

Kitty had stayed by them as they had entered her eyes ahead, she paused as they came across people she drew her knife it glinted and was ready. She nodded when told she and Sahalie would work together she stepped up with her friend and watched the others as they came into view. A three on four fight hardly fair but it would be interesting she thought as she looked over and froze when she heard Sean’s words and frowned. She was about to speak when she was attacked by Lex and she paused using her speed to avoid an attack but the second did hit she groaned.
She had not known what had happened, she had believed that the girl had been killed in the blood bath. Yet as she watched as Lex came at her she decided she had to fight back, her eyes stayed on his for several moments as she scowled “we didn’t know about how she died” she told him her voice calm as the battle started. She hoped Sahalie would be at her side soon as they would need to work together. “I am sorry for your loss,” the words rang true yet she attacked him back.

Kailani had been moving quickly once they had a specific direction they were going in. She could move slightly faster through the water. After all when a wave dosed a ship you had to be able to walk in the water while you were being tossed. This was nothing different. At least the arena was stationary at the moment. She sneered at the boys form twelve and eight and looked at the girl from ten. She looked a little upset but then again what did Kai know about the girl. She didn't have time to think all that much as Kitty went after the boy from Twelve. She knew the girl from twelve was dead and she didn't pity the boy. The boy had annoyed her but when he went after Kitty she couldn't forgive and so it was the younger who started the battle and it would be the elders who would finish it. She was going to go in for the kill. She was heading straight for the boys throat.

Sahalie had been too scared to actually think about sneaking into wherever they were going. As a matter of fact she wasn't even sure she wanted to sneak in. It was more that she was paying attention to the rising water level and the fact that she was going to have to attack and kill someone soon enough. Attack them likely wouldn't be the problem. If she didn't attack the two she was with would be mad at her and the others they hunted were going to be trying to kill her two. She just had to think of things that way. It was a way to get home to her beloved machines. To machines that didn't sound like they were going to kill her every second of the day.
It was while walking that she started to calm down completely and the little girl who had been scared looked a little less scared. When she had seen the faces in the sky she had known that her district partner was gone. She wasn't too happy about that but at least Lucas was still about. She took a deep breath and as Lex attacked Kitty something in her snapped a little bit. They were attacking a friend.
She didn't attack Lex though for some reason. There were three against four and it seemed like a better idea to attack someone else. On top of that it looked like Kailani had it taken care of. She aimed for Ambrosia's side.

Ambrosia never seemed to catch a break--all she seemed to do was fight with people. But she was not just going to lie down. She was done. And this time, she was angry. The little girl had clipped her shoulder, but it only hurt a bit. "Torr! she yelled towards Torrence, unclipping her axe from her belt and throwing it towards the boy from 8. She might die here, but she wasn't planning on it. Ambrosia was going after the girl from Four, who seemed extremely talented with the spear. She needed to take one of them out, and with her machete, she sprinted towards Kaliani. She wanted everyone dead except for her allies, but eventually, her mind would change with them. All she wanted to do was go home. That was her one desire, and she knew that she wanted it more than everyone else.

Torr heard voices, not Ambrosia's or Lex's, but more dangerous voices. His head turned around, seeing four new people. Defensively, Torr took a step back. It would take too long for them to escape, make them very vulnerable. Torr! He heard the familiar female voice, Ambrosia's, calling his name. An axe flung to him. Torr caught it with ease. "You watched her die? You watched my friend's love die? Careers, I bet. They'd be the only people to let someone like that die. Even I have sympathy for something like that. It just proves how heartless y'all really are." He slashed at the girl who spoke, trying to act all innocent. Torr pulled back has blade, looking to see if it caught blood. "How dare you. Being in a dumb pack of hideous monsters just so you can live. Come with us. At least we aren't disgusting b*tches." He grinned. These two younger ones weren't smart, not at all. Teaming with careers who could kill them in a second. "Lex, lets get revenge on these b*tches. After all, they killed Sam." He grinned, readying to feel any pain from the other side's blades. Sean had expected Lex to come at him, yet he went for Kitty that showed that he had no confidence in beating them. He drew his blade and stepped in front of Tore “you and me” he told him eyes cold. He would handle the bigger one as well, it was the best bet they were trained fighters and he was sure that he could win this. With Kai dealing with Lex he grinned as he attacked Torr hard and fast. He had trained since he was a child with weapons, he had little doubt that he could hurt this boy in more ways than one.
With the boy from twelve blinded by rage he knew Kai had the advantage against him, she was the best in the arena including Jack who had left the pack. “Come on Torr let’s see what you have, or are you just going to lay down and die?” he asked him his voice harsh as he swung his sword at the teen as the fight truly began.

Lex's sword hit it's mark. The strike alone surprised even him. It was the first time he'd ever attacked a tribute, but something in his head didn't click properly. He couldn't think about anything but the anger and pain from Samantha's death. No matter what anyone did or told him, right now- right now, all he knew was anger and vengeance. Only the pain he was feeling in his heart could be felt, even after Kitty had attacked him. He didn't feel it. The cut was now a part of his body that he didn't even realize was there. Blood seeped out slowly, his anger only feeding on it more and more.
"You aren't sorry, I don't believe anything you say!" he yelled at her. As soon as he did, a light flashed from somewhere in front of them. The water electrified and a strong current rushed through his body for just a second. That second was enough to cause him to falter. He looked around, everyone had been affected by it, too. Thunder rolled right after. They had been hit by lightning.
Lex pulled his sword up, he pointed it towards Kitty once more. Then swung it upwards and brought it down the end of her shoulder, right on her arm.

She paused at his words her head bowed slightly even now, she was a scared girl and it showed in her eyes. She looked at Sahalie and paused and shook her head, she wouldn’t leave her alone even now. She had made the deal to keep her friend safe, even though they had just met she closed her eyes and seemed to be considering when she heard Lex and turned but a moment later lightning came down and she collapsed as she shook violently for several moments and whimpered but the feeling soon passed.
Rubbing her arm she looked at Lex as he came at her again she drew her six inch knife but was to slow. The blade cut down on her arm as she whimpered in pain as she looked at him her eyes sad, “we were at…the wheel they found us, we didn’t know” she told him as she slowly stood and knew what he was aiming for. She would have to be careful she thought as she let out a small shaky whimper as she held the knife in her hands.
Seeing them go after Kai she looked at Torr her eyes sad “I…cant” she told him as she went after ambrosia with her six inch knife going for her weapon hand.

Kailani had tasted blood as she pulled back her spear from Lex. She could continue going after the boy but someone else was on her. She was not to keen on someone trying to get the upper hand on her. She spun to meet face to face with Ambrosia as Sahalie's attack hit the older girl. Not bad for someone who'd never picked up a spear before. She had to hand it to the little one. It seemed the boy from eight and the boy from twelve were going after Kitty. Sahalie would take care of that she was which meant it was going to be her and the girl from ten. "Thought you'd pull a fast one on me did you?" She smirked to herself. This was going to be fun. The girl from four began her decent into the monster that she had been trained to be. The other would bring her out of it later. Right now it meant life and death right now. She raised her spear and went after Ambrosia's stomach. The right hit there and one would lose their life. Slowing bleeding out. Or she could switch her aim a little higher and go for the heart. She was quick to decided and went for the stomach.

Sahalie let out a scream of pain and trembled a little more then she was supposed too. She wasn't scared anymore. She pulled out the Spear watching as Kai has brought it out of Lex. She was unsteady with the weapon at best but that didn't seem to matter at the moment. She turned to see the Kitty get attacked. She set her face in a frown and then went after Lex who had attacked Kitty. She wasn't too happy that the boy had hurt her friend. Sure she wasn't good with people but Kai, Sean, and Kitty were her friends for the time being and that was all the mattered at the moment. She needed all of them to stay alive. The lightening had not been kind to her though as she still shook slightly as she tried to make a hit on Lex in his side with the spear in her hands. She didn't even notice what Kai and Kitty were doing at the moment. She just wanted to find a way to get herself and the others out of this as quickly as possible.
The less she had to deal with a large amount of people the better. She wasn't sure what was going to happen to her if she had to stay in this large amount of people. Yes seven people was a little too much for the thirteen year old girl from five

Words was basically everything he heard come out of mouths. I don't believe anything you say! Come on Torr let’s see what you have.. I.. I can't.. Thought you'd pull a fast one on me did you? Torr heard all these things, but the last one stuck out. It was from the oldest of the girls, her spear practically launched into Ambrosia's stomach. It was such a fast moment, that Tor couldn't do anything about it. He wished he could have. He wanted to walk right in front of that spear, let himself die for Ambrosia. Torrance's face of disgust turned into a face of anger. "Stop." Words flew out of his mouth before he could think twice about them. "Stop." He repeated. "Don't kill him, either of us." Torr put his ax into his belt, hands now up in the air. "I'll make you a deal, m'kay?" He didn't sound very angry, more annoyed. "Don't lay another blade out him. Let him and your little minions go. Take me." He took a few steps closer to the career guy. "Do whatever you want with me, I don't care if its going to make me regret this. Just leave them alone.. please." Torr looked back to Lex, standing there. Confused. He just wanted anyone who killed Sam to be dead. "I'm sorry.. Alexander.. But I have to do this.. no. I want to do this. Just know its for you. Sean had been doing well in the battle and was enjoying it, this was what he had trained to do since he could remember. Blood was on their blades, and getting worse as time they went back and forth he was almost even with the man he was fighting. He was talented with an Axe, laughing calmly when they were going “not bad but I am better kid” he told him and grinned as he blocked an attack from him and moved out of the way his eyes gleamed even now. The game was on, and this was one that he could win he thought.
That was when he heard the scream and looked over and saw a spear go into Ambrosia’s stomach and then be pulled out, it was a killing blow it would seem he thought and grinned. First true blood of the new pack, he turned his attention on Torr who started to beg for his life as well as the boy from twelve and shook his head. “Sorry, but we have to finish what we started” he told him voice cold as he attacked the young man again.

The girl from four had thrown her spear and scraped her leg. Ambrosia seemed to never catch a break. Why did these people want her dead? Was it because they saw her as a threat? Probably. But Ambrosia was not ready to back down. She wasn't ready to die nor was she ready to give up on protecting her brother. Two of the girls came at her, and she needed to choose which one to kill. The girl from 4 seemed stronger than the other, so she decided that she would go for her. "I never wanted to fight you guys...all I want to do is go home," she said loud enough for everyone to hear. "Please stop this," she said to her, slightly murmuring. "We don't have to do this."
Ambrosia closed her eyes and swung at the girl. She felt like a child again. She was mad and angry, yes, but if this fight ended up killing all of them, what was the point?

Lex stopped for a moment, but never let go of his sword. He eyed the girl, her small figure under his scrutiny. It shouldn't have mattered to him at that moment, but something clicked inside Lex. What was he doing? He was attacking an innocent girl out of anger. But no- she was siding with the careers! Lex's head spun, his mind unable to choose one course of action. When the girl didn't attack him, he watched as she went for Ambrosia. This wasn't him... This wasn't what he was supposed to do. He wasn't supposed to kill anyone, he couldn't-- how could he?
His mind thought of Samantha, she wouldn't have wanted this. But... She was dead. Lex looked up at Sean. It was HIS fault! Losing all the mercy he once had, along with his proper mind, he picked up his sword and swung it over his shoulder, heading straight for Sean. But someone else had hit him. Lex was knocked back, his body taken by surprise. He looked up to see a little girl who had cut him with a spear. Unable to get close to Sean, Lex settled his eyes on the brown haired girl. He had to kill Sean, but this girl was getting in the way of it. Perhaps other people deserved mercy, but Sean was not one of them. None of the careers were. He looked at the girl, "My fight isn't with you!" He swung his sword towards the girl's arm, "back off!" He hoped that if his sword cut her, she'd stop attacking him so he could move on to killing the one person who really deserved it.
