Hazel walked down the street with her head up high. She wasn't exactly a model citizen, but she'd wiped her record clean, giving herself a normal life as far as the census was concerned. Hazel tried not to steal or do anything that would get her arrested. But she still had to make a living and her only set of skills were hacking. That and sex, but if she could make money without having to touch disgusting slobs, then she preferred to do that instead. It wasn't too difficult getting jobs because she'd made a name for herself. And it wasn't always hacking, sometimes people just needed help with their computers or whatever it was they had. The client she was walking to was a new one. It felt sketchy to her because they refused to divulge any information about the job or who they were. Sure, most people were wary of strangers. But to meet at a coffee shop? How cliche. At the same time, Hazel was worried it could be an undercover Peacekeepers. They weren't above setting up fake meetings. She'd never been so unlucky to fall for one, but there's always a first time for everything. She chose a corner inside the coffee shop and ordered something strong for her coffee, and a danish. She could afford to splurge. For today at least. Hazel looked at her watch, she was five minutes early. WC: 237 TAG: Nora Palladi

Nora walked into the coffee shop, listening to the happy twinkle of the doorbell behind her as the door closed. She walked to the counter, smiling at the worker behind the counter. Nora frequented the coffee shop and ordered the same thing each time. Now, the employees memorized her order, and she’d memorized the payment - plus a tip, of course - that she laid on the counter in exact change. In all most no time, she was handed her cup, and she turned to look at the crowd. Nora found the hacker quickly, holding up the corner booth in the back left. She walked over, sitting down across from her. A waitress walked by, giving a smile. ”Hey, Lily,” Nora said, falsifying a happy smile as she sat, reaching out to touch the other woman’s hand lightly. ”It’s great to see you again, how’s everything?” Nora already knew she had her girl, of course, so she trusted her to play along, at least for the single second that the waitress was watching. After she strayed away, Nora started again. ”Hi, Elvira?” she asked, not waiting for confirmation. ”Good to finally see you in person.” They’d spoken briefly before, but not in person. Nora asked very vague questions about a potential contract to deem if this Elvira was right for the job. Once Nora decided she was, she arranged the meeting to go further into detail. Not long after Hazel had sat down and received her coffee and danish, a woman entered. She smiled at the waitress, speaking to her for a moment. Hazel looked down at her coffee, not her. But then the woman seemed to be making her way towards her. Hazel scanned the room quickly, four customers, two waiters on the floor, one behind the counter. The woman was still heading towards her little corner of the coffee shop. Shit. This must be her. "Yeah... You too," Hazel tried to smile, but she only managed a smirk at the woman who seemed to now be putting on a show. She was good, whoever she was. Hazel had been fooled into thinking she was just another customer. She knew the waitress here, maybe she was a regular. At least the woman knew what a binary code was because Hazel had told her she'd wear a shirt with binary code on it so that she'd know it was her. It wasn't until the woman asked if she wanted to get to the details that she realized she'd been sizing her up. So this was the woman she'd talked to via electronic message. She looked young, probably around the same age as herself. She wasn't sure what to make of this woman, but something sketchy was definitely going on. She felt like red flags were going all over her brain and she was simply ignoring it. She was usually good at telling people, but this woman was difficult to figure out. "Sure. Want a danish though? I always feel bad when I'm with someone and I'm eating and they're not," she looked at the woman's single cup of coffee. She hadn't ordered anything else except for it. WC: 292 TAG: Nora Palladi

Nora looked up at Elvira’s offer, a bit thrown off by the casualness implicit in her words. Nora had misread the situation, to her displeasure. She watched Elvira for a single moment, her eyes narrowing a fraction of an inch as she tried to reread the situation. The general assumption had been that she was to come into the shop, get a coffee (mostly for show) and give the details of the contract. Nora hadn’t expected it to be a brunch date, no matter how pretty this hacker was. The danish also crossed through her mind. Nora knew of an older person in her lab, one who got caught by expanding out to work with others. But, of course, eating the food wouldn’t be a risk. Why would the hacker endanger her before she’d thrown the dollar value out on the table? The plate was in the middle of the table with a few danishes stacked across it. ”Yeah, I’ll have a bite,” she agreed. Using her fork, Nora speared off a small piece and ate it. Generally, she never ordered any pastries from this place because they were too damn sweet. This, though, she could force if it meant securing the social trust of the other hacker. ”Haven’t had cherry in a while,” Nora commented before taking a sip of her coffee, still trying to read the other woman across from her. For now, all she knew was that she’d cut to the chase too quickly. She needed to slow down, be casual. ”Ever been to this place before?” Nora asked. She knew that by coming here, she put some information about herself out there. From her interaction with the cashier, Nora was easily a regular, meaning that she either lived or worked (or both) within close distance to the shop. Words: 320 Tags: Hazel R. Tigerlily

Hazel see it then, in that little moment where the woman experience a moment of confusion during her tight rope performance. That's how she saw her, a performer trying to do a difficult task that required skill, concentration, and a whole lot of nerve. She took a bite of her danish while watching the woman take a piece from the plate with a fork. Hazel looked down at her own danish, she'd taken a whole piece and was eating it by taking bites. Like how one would eat a sandwich or a cookie. "Cherry's my favorite," she smiled, licking off the sugar that had stuck to her finger tips. Rich. The woman was rich. Only they did something as ridiculous as using a fork rather than hands for food clearly designed to be picked up. No wonder they'd met at this fancy coffee shop. It was probably the woman's favorite. Hazel shook her head. The simple decor that didn't try too hard, the way the tables and seats were arranged in such a Feng shui style that made you feel at ease, it was a coffee shop for people who could afford luxury but didn't want to announce it to the world. "No, but I can tell why you like it so much Miss...?" Hazel's words hung in the air, waiting for the woman's words to join in and fill the spaces. Wc: Mobile Tag: Nora Palladi

Nora couldn’t hide the smile that came when the hacker licked her fingers. Was she trying to be seductive? Whether she was or not, it was working. Nora squirmed a little in her seat. She understood the situation now - it was her breakthrough. Nora laid her fork down and reach forward, tearing off a bit of the danish with her fingers. She ate the piece, then, mirroring Elvira, drug the end of her pointer finger over her finger quickly to clean the extra filling. This all made sense now that she had her spin. ”I don’t have sweets that often, but, when I do, I prefer cherries,” Nora told her, leaning forward in her seat a bit. The shop was definitely in the wealthier side of the District that was the least affected by the war. It was nice to go here, forget about Panem and its surroundings for a bit, using the money sourced from the tragedies. Nora watched Elvira as she asked for a name. It was only natural, of course. She knew the other woman’s name when she tried to find a referral. In the dirtier, more impoverished side of the district, an underground market of people peddling illegal goods and service gave her Elvira’s name when she said she needed a hacker for a contract. Elvira, it seemed, made a name for herself in the underground. Nora, though, worked more with big name clientele in far off Districts and the Capitol, nothing that would’ve given her a street name, so she simply hadn’t included one. Her mind worked rapidly as she tried to decide if she should give an alias. The hacker’s name surely wasn’t Elvira, so why should she give her real name? It would put her at a disadvantage. ”Miss sounds a little geriatric, don’t you think? I’m Lucia.” Words: 328 Tags: Hazel R. Tigerlily

Hazel's eyes flicked up at the woman's smile. She felt her lips twitch, was she...? No. She couldn't possibly. But Hazel had never been wrong before. Even if a woman wasn't specifically interested in other women, it didn't mean they opposed being with them at least for one night. Or a few hours. She wiped her fingers on a napkin and sat back on the chair. She propped one leg up on the chair and rested her elbow on her knee, her body sat back against the chair, and she allowed herself to relax and be more herself as she studied the woman in front of her. Brown hair that seemed to casually just create the perfect waves as if she naturally woke up like that. Cat like eyes that were quick and soft at the same time. Pouty lips-- Hazel licked her own lips, then looked the woman in the eyes. Hazel adjusted in her seat slightly, "Really? I like actual cherries, too. It's hard to find them in the district now, but sometimes I'll get lucky. I specially like the ones that have just ripened, they're so... plump." Hazel smiled at the woman, her fingers playing with the mouth of her coffee cup. She raised her brows when Lucia gave her name. She smirked and held out her hand towards her, "you don't look like a Lucia, but it's nice to meet you." It didn't surprise her that Lucia, or whatever her name was, had given her a false name. Elvira wasn't her name, only what people know her by when they needed a hacker. She'd had many names in the past. To her parents she was 'sweet baby'. To her siblings, she was Hazie. To the men that stole her and sold her, she was just another girl. To the man who bought her, she was 'sugar'. To all the men that had her, she was 'baby'. To Leo, she was his 'gift'. To herself, she was Tigerlily. It wasn't her real last name, it was one that she had given herself and made real when she created her new identity. "Shall we get down to business?" Hazel asked, finally and took a sip of her coffee. WC: 375 TAG: Nora Palladi

It took all of Nora’s willpower not to choke at Elvira’s words. She had, in fact, read the situation correctly the second time. For a moment, Nora tried to decide what that meant. It was impossible for her to be dishonest with herself about this other girl - she wanted already wanted her badly. How could she not? Elvira voice was now dripping in sex, visualized by one of the prettiest frames Nora had ever seen: black, silky hair, and those eyes that were the same color as pictures of the sea. f*ck.While still considering the situation, Nora had to divert her attention elsewhere, now to the game of Aliases. She shook Elvira’s hand, a smile on her face. ”Mm, should we trade, then? You might look the part of a Lucia more than I do, and maybe I’ll make a better Elvira.” In the game of freelance tech work following the rebellion, big money was floating around meaning that danger was inherent. Safety measures had to be taken, like not giving out one’s real name and not sleeping with a potential business partner after the first meeting. Now, they shifted to what Nora came for. ”Yes, that’s fine,” Nora agreed. She paused for a second, listening around her for footsteps without turning around to make it blatantly obvious that she was trying to be secretive. ”I was thinking that it wouldn’t hurt for a girl like me to find some friends out here in this world. You seemed like a good fit, so I thought that maybe I could make this… arrangement worth your while. I have a job for you. Only if you were interested, of course.”Words: 304 Tags: Hazel R. Lucia's hand was soft. She didn't have the hands of someone who worked as a laborer, why would she. If she could afford to live or work around this area, she had other people to do the labor for her. Hazel liked the way her hand felt. It was so different compared to touching a man's hand. Softer, smaller, more fragile. "I think you could pull of Elvira," she smiled back. Hazel took another sip of her coffee while Nora spoke. She nodded, though not fully understanding what exactly Lucia meant. Was she looking for a friend or an employee? Hazel knew many people who outsourced jobs to freelancers such as herself. But no one ever even mentioned the word 'friend'. She pressed her thumb in between her lips and chewed lightly on her fingernail while she thought about it. Lucia hadn't really told her anything of value, nothing concrete. What if this was illegal? Would it matter? No, of course not. Hazel was used to doing very illegal things. But it did matter what kind of information she gathered, how that information was used, and who was involved. There were always gray areas when working with information. Information was, above all, valuable. "Well, I won't turn you down just yet. But I will need more information before I commit. I may be a criminal, but I still have some morals, you understand," Hazel said casually. "Should we end our meeting now or would you like to speak somewhere more private?" WC: 255 TAG: Nora Palladi

Nora could see the process of thought play out across Elvria’s face, weighing what her answer should be. Whether or not to take a job wasn’t always an easy decision to make, especially now when Nora hadn’t given any real information at all. Elvira’s response made sense, and Nora nodded along to it. Elvira knew absolutely nothing about what she’d be asked to hack, so of course she’d want to know more about the nature of its illegality. The night before as she lay in bed, trying to fall asleep, Nora crafted a perfect explanation that would make sense to someone with little background in physics. Now, that mental practice would go to good use. ”Of course,” Nora agreed easily. ”I’d be happy to go over the details with you. Did you have a place in mind?” She couldn’t immediately think of a nearby place that wouldn’t expose her identity, especially because she already ran the risk of someone who didn’t work at the coffee shop recognizing her and blowing what little cover she’d built for herself. This early on, she couldn’t tell how trustworthy Elvira would be. Very on in her side career, Nora found that those in her profession weren’t loyal to others - they were loyal to their money. It’s why they were in their line of work, after all. Still, Nora felt that if given a bit more time, she could gauge the reliability of this hacker. Words: 261 Tags: Hazel R. TigerlilyNotes:

When Lucia agreed to continue with the job by going somewhere more private, Hazel smiled and drank the rest of her coffee. She boxed up the rest of the danish as well and put it inside her back pack that housed her computer and a few other necessities. She never went without her back pack. It was gray and distressed from wear and tear complete with random drawings, pins, and sewed on patches. Leo had given it to her as a birthday present on her first birthday living with him. No matter how tattered and beat up it got, she refused to get rid of it so it was covered with random pieces of fabric to cover up holes and tears. Hazel never had belongings after she was taken from her parents house so she valued everything she owned. "Yes, but just this once," she said as she got up to leave. She never had to come up with an area for her clients before. Usually she went to them and hoped that things turned out for the best. She never gave out her address and she was always careful not to be followed home. "Next time, if there's a next time, you'll have provide our secret club house," she winked. Hazel lead her down the street towards the other side of town. She didn't talk much, preferring to just get where they needed to go. Time was money and as beautiful as Lucia was, her face didn't provide Hazel with any money. They turned a corner and walked down the stairs on the side of a building. The stairs lead to a door underground, a basement. She knocked once, waited, then twice, waited, and once again. A home opened in the door and a pair of eyes started back at her. "I solemnly sweat I am up to no good," she said the password, then the door opened. Hazel smiled at Lucia and have her the cue to follow. The basement, as it was called, was a hidden area for people who wanted to conduct private business. The music was loud, the air was hazy with smoke, and the lights above them changed colors. People kissed and made out on some of the seats, but mainly they spoke to each other or were on their computers. There were all sorts of seating arrangements throughout the open room. Then towards the back there were a few booths with curtains to close around then if needed. To another side of the basement were three closed doors. Damn the rooms were taken. Hazel walked to an empty both towards the back of the room. The bench wrapped around the round table, a curtains faced towards the front of the room. She stepped into the booth and drew the curtains. "Don't worry, no one will be able to hear us," Hazel assured her as she sat down towards the middle of the booth. Hazel figured that Lucia probably didn't know anything about the basement, else she would have know to come here too walk in private. Wc idk Tag Nora Palladi

Nora felt slightly out of place as she followed Elvira through the city. She was wearing black jeans and plain white shirt beneath a black jacket that hinted subtly at wealth. Nora didn’t flash her money, or at least, she liked to think of it like that. In this place, it stuck out like a sore thumb. Nora stuck behind Elvira as she followed her into the basement, taking in the surroundings. Her eyes drifted to the potential exits and took notes of the types of people around her. Being in such a restricted place certainly made her nervous, but something told her to be calm. Still slightly on edge, she followed Hazel into the booth, watching as the curtains closed around them. Once Nora decided that things were as safe as they were going to get, she reach into her bag and pulled out a thick file, sitting it down on the table and removing the first stapled packet, remembering her memorized script, then deviating from it entirely. ”Think of me as a slightly different version of yourself. I, too, contract myself out, just in another field and for other reasons.” Nora cleared her throat a bit and slid forward on her seat. ”This time, though, I’ve been pulled into a job that I need a bit of help on.” Nora slid the paper around, turning it to face Elvira. Listed on it was the information she would need. ”I’m not a hacker - I’m a physicist. It’s not always possible for me to collect the data I need myself, so, in those instances, I need to… borrow it from others. You understand.” Nora’s eyes fell down to the paper between them. ”The job shouldn’t be a hard one; I just don’t have all the equipment for it, and even if I did, I don’t have the time to collect the information. That’s where you come in. I know where the research laboratories are, and I even know what servers the data’s on. I just need you to get me that data.” Her eyes shifted up to Elvira, watching her face carefully for a response. ”Should this all work out - all of this dependent on just how much I “borrow”, of course - it could be an extremely profitable venture for you.” Words: 409 Tags: Hazel R. Hazel watched as Lucia pulled out a packet from her bag. She sat up straighter at the edge of her seat when the woman began to talk and then looked at the paper that Lucia opened it to. Hazel had worked similar jobs before, taking collecting data and information from specific companies and even The Capitol. Even though she knew that some information looked to have been omitted in the packet that Lucia showed her, Hazel would only need a few seconds on the computer to figure out everything she needed to know. She allowed Lucia to talk without interrupting her, her eyes scanning at the words and her fingers flipping the pages. The way the woman spoke now was more business like than before. Hazel rather liked the more hair down version of her. But that was back at the coffee shop. The curtains the were drawn around them allowed them to speak more openly, she wondered how open Lucia could be right now without prying eyes and listening ears. When Lucia stopped, Hazel pulled away from her thoughts. Hazel realized that Lucia was far too beautiful for her own good. She wondered if Lucia took the attention away to herself when she spoke to her co-workers. "You mentioned you were a physicist," Hazel said, "scientists work for The Capitol. I think we both know the risks of what you're requesting." Hazel took out a packet of gum and slipped one in her mouth, offering a piece to Lucia. She smacked on the gum, thinking about the kind of trouble she would be in if she were to get caught. Hazel blew a bubble between her lips, then popped it. "I'll do it." Hazel leaned back on the booth, hiking up her leg to the seat as she often did. "On one condition." WC: 305 TAG: Nora Palladi

Requesting services and discussing business in general with a new client or partner was always nerve wracking. Nora didn’t know who she could trust. Everyone in her line of business, anyway, was there for the money. People got hurt, and people got sacrificed. Nora was eyeing a setup with a nuclear engineer in 5 when his operation went under after he was outed by an engineer in 6 who had been caught in a data transfer. After that, Nora learned that no one was entirely trustworthy. They owed her nothing at all, and they would be loyal only to money. If Nora could tangle herself with that supply, she could perhaps share the loyalty of it. No one would want to jeopardize a decent source of money unless things got bad. That was why Nora also watched for those who didn’t let things get bad, those who were smart enough to evade being caught. So far, she felt that Elvira fit the bill. Elvira’s comment made her smile. ”On paper, in my lab? I work for the Capitol. But why would the Capitol contact me privately like this for work if I’m already employed to them?” Who were her other customers? Rebels, mainly. They wanted to know how to make the best weapons, how to build the best reinforcements. Some rogue independents in the Capitol still fearful of the war reach out to her, too. Lucia was in much higher demand than one would expect her to be. She watched Elvira carefully, accepting the gum and chewing it. Her eyes lingered for a moment as the bubble popped on Elvira’s full, pink lips, watching as her next words formed there. Keeping her face as neutral as possible, Nora still lifted a single eyebrow. ”What’s the condition?” Words: 307 Tags: Hazel R. Tigerlily

Lucia was right of course. It would be odd to outsource a job for The Capitol when another employee could just do the job. Of course, that also meant only one thing. If Nora wasn't doing it for The Capitol, she was doing it for their enemy. Hazel pushed it out of her mind. This was a job that she would take, she'd already decided on it. The risks didn't look too high from what she'd seen on paper, but that could all change once she started working on it. Hazel smiled when the woman asked. She had another thing she thought about asking of her, but that wasn't as important. Maybe this wasn't important either, but Hazel found that it was her top priority at the moment. "Tell me your real name," she said and tilted her head, wondering if 'Lucia' would actually divulge her true identity. But it wouldn't have mattered anyways. A few searches on her computer and Hazel would be able to figure out who the woman in front of her was. It wasn't hard to find people, especially ones who worked for The Capitol like she did. They were easy targets, easy finds. WC: 200 TAG: Nora Palladi

Nora waited for the condition, barely holding her composure as it was revealed. Her name. It was a simple request, really, and Nora half figured that Elvira knew it anyway. As a hacker, she’d have access to data. If she didn’t already know what Nora’s name was, she could very easily find it now. All if would take was remembering that Nora worked in the Capitol’s physics lab in 3, then checking the employee records and looking for her photo. The trust Nora wanted to find in Elvira was definitely not one sided, something she hadn’t previously considered at length. A hacker would want to know that they would be safe in doing their job, in knowing that the information would not put them at previous risk. Though parts of her protested, Nora looked up at Elvira. ”Nora Vesta Palladi,” she said. ”Database probably won’t have the middle name because I don’t use it often. My mother left it off my birth certificate for some reason. Still there unofficially, though.” The guise of Lucia was gone now, but somehow, playing in this card of trust made Nora feel a bit more secure, like Elvira could maybe feel better about their arrangement now. Hazel watched as Lucia considered her condition. A name was so simple to most people. But to her, a name was valuable. A name, a real name meant existence and vulnerability. And the moment that the woman spoke her name, she was stripped of a piece of her armor that protected her from people like Hazel. There was so much that Hazel could do with her name. So much damage she could inflict, as she'd done numerous times to others. But that wasn't Hazel's intention. She liked what Nora had said about her middle name. It made things less secretive, but it still was. Perhaps it was where they were. In some underground hideout with dim lights, a booth with curtains surrounding it. There was an air of darkness about it. An air of mystery that thrilled Hazel. She wondered if Nora felt the tingle of electricity sparking off their flesh. "Nora suits you," she said as she stuck out her hand once more for the second time during this meeting. "I'm Hazel Tigerlily," she said, laying out her name in the open air between them like some fluttering butterfly waiting to be caught. It felt as if her clothes had been stripped off her, names had a way of protecting people. Even fake ones. When she pulled her hand back, she gathered the papers back into the folder in the order Nora had them. She closed the folder and tucked it into her backpack, then turned back to Nora. "Is there a deadline?" WC: 255 TAG: Nora Palladi

Nora felt reassured as she watched the other woman receive her name. It was clear that Elvira liked her response, which in turn made Nora comfortable. She liked happy partners: happy partners didn’t turn you into the Peacekeepers or sell you out otherwise. Taking on a partner like Elvira was a dangerous move, but so far, Nora felt that the risk would pay off. The surprise came when Elvira gave her real name. Hazel. Nora let the name roll through her mind. Hazel. She took Hazel’s hand, shaking it again. This felt more authentic than their first time. Hazel’s palm was warmer now and this time, it came with a hint of a spark. ”I’m glad we can actually be acquainted,” Nora said, smiling a bit. Giving Hazel her name without getting one in return felt dangerous, but receiving her partner’s name wasn’t something she expected at all. It was an unlikely bonus. Nora watched as her papers disappeared into Hazel’s bag. There were other copies elsewhere, of course, but she’d just made herself uniquely vulnerable. She should have felt nervous, but instead, she felt relaxed. Calm. Nora hummed for a second as she considered the idea of a deadline. She had work to keep her busy indefinitely, and usually the projects were negotiated on her terms. Theoretically, she could wait a year before getting back to her clients. They’d still come - that’s what desperate people did. But she wanted to be better than a source of desperation, in case conditions changed, so she tried to do things at a better rate than that. ”A week? Two weeks if you need it. I don’t know how you do things, really. When do you think you could have all this done?”Words: 316 Tags: Hazel R. TigerlilyNotes: Coming back from the dead, b*tches pt. 2

Hazel didn't have to think too long about how fast she could get the job finished. It was easy enough for her and if she dedicated all her time into it instead of splitting up to different jobs, she could have it done "two days if you're desperate, but it'd cost twice as much." She looked at Nora, gauging the way her body had relaxed some, "but you don't look to be in any hurry and since I do have other clients, how does Saturday sound?" It was a week away, enough time for her to wrap up a few jobs and take on some new ones without over burdening herself. She liked the challenge of a closer deadline, stress was one of her biggest motivator. It was the only way to get the best out of her. But she also enjoyed to steadily cruise work, especially when she needed to lie low, which is something she'd had to do lately after taking on a high risk client a week ago. Her watch beeped once, letting her know it was an on an hour mark. "You might want to leave now, there's about to be a show," she smiled at Nora, her fingers played with the curtain as she peeked out and saw some of the first few ladies coming out from around the corner, barely any clothes on their bodies. The lights around them dimmed even more now. A hand reached inside the curtain and pulled it open, revealing the entirety of the dark room. The sounds of people moving about filled the room, some were leaving while others were just coming in. "Hi," the woman said, letting go of the curtain. Hazel looked at Nora and smirked, "Come on, I can walk you out." WC: 297 TAG: Nora Palladi

Nora smiled easily. ”Saturday,” she agreed, relaxing back into the seat, feeling her business persona fade away. Despite the degree of professionalism that she tried to maintain when speaking with contracts, Nora felt that slipping some. She couldn’t deny the feeling of electric in her veins when she spoke with the other woman. Whether Nora liked it or not, she’d definitely been flirting - maybe even unintentionally, but still flirting nonetheless - with Hazel. She wasn’t sure what do next when a beep sounded. Nora raised an eyebrow. ”A show?” she echoed, unsure as to what Hazel meant. She got a glimpse of the larger room when Hazel parted the curtain. Oh, she thought, a show. Nora’s eyes ventured to embarrassing places as the woman outside their booth greeted them. She was mostly naked, her attractiveness not a secret by any means. ”Hmm,” Nora hummed, returning Hazel’s look. ”The whole ‘not mixing business and pleasure’ thing,” she said, drawing out her words a little. ”Smart of you,” Nora said. There was the possibility that she wouldn’t be nearly as smart if given the chance. The thought of taking Hazel home had already crossed her mind a few times, but she’d tried to ignore it. The air was different now, though, and Nora could feel herself edging towards potentially bad decisions. The stakes were entirely tied to Hazel now. If she chose to walk Nora out, she would go (then admittedly drop by a few bars in search of someone to take home). Things would change if Nora was invited to stay. Words: 275 Tags: Hazel R.
