Kira hadn't had much time since the group started rehearsing. She didn't do much but eat, rehearse, and sleep. She worked eight hours rehearsing with the rest of the cast and another five hours rehearsing by herself. Though she was just chorus, she wanted to be perfect. That meant spending most of her time alone. She didn't drink or go to any of the social events. She already had enough drama before rehearsals even started. Even though tensions were dying down with Oliver and Alec, she still preferred to do what she was there to do: dance.
But tonight was different. Kira was at the bar, drinking alone on a Tuesday night. It marked the sixth year of Kira leaving Oliver. It was almost a tradition to go out and drink every time the day passed in the year. It was usually filled with regret, drinking in her own emotions. One year, she ended up passing out at a bar and found her picture in the tabloids the next morning. This particular night, though, it wasn't filled with regret. If anything, she was drinking to relax herself and to celebrate her hard work. The bartender poured her a glass of the whiskey she ordered. She spent what little money she had on drinking about once a month. She had nothing else to spend money on, after all. Without friends, she didn't really go out. Instead, she went out on Sundays to meet new directors to cast her in jobs after Dark Days: The Musical. She had already gotten a few offers. "To new beginnings," she said with a smile, cheering the bartender.
She enjoyed her own company. It was better than bickering and gossiping anyways. She was still as competitive as ever, though she wanted to show her dedication than to speak it. To her, actions always spoke louder than words. She knew she was proving herself, as rehearsing thirteen hours a day definitely showed with her dancing. She almost seemed to be leagues above the rest of the chorus. She knew she was. But she had to keep pushing herself better and better. She wouldn't settle for anything less than perfection.
Kira saw someone approach the bar on the corner of her eye. She turned her head and saw Oliver. Be civil, she thought to herself, and she would definitely try. There was no need for her to be sarcastic or crude. "For some reason, I thought I'd see you here," she said, raising her eyebrow and smiling. She took a sip of her whiskey. She remembered drinking shitty whiskey when she was drinking with Alec. She had an agenda there though. This time, she didn't. "Does the great director not have a date with the great choreographer tonight?" She asked lightheartedly with a smirk. She wanted nothing but the best for Oliver, and she hoped he didn't take her words into something that she didn't mean. WORD COUNT: 492 TAG: Oliver A. Bennett NOTES: Hope this is okay. I couldn't think of anything else xD

This night had always been hard on Oliver. Somehow, he always knew it was that time of the year. It was as if his body and mind was so damaged by Kira leaving that it could never forget the pain. In the past years, the pain had been so raw during this time of the year that he couldn't stand to be alive. He did everything he could just to pass out, sometimes for days at a time. And then eventually, enough days would pass and he could function again. Even though things got better over the years, he always felt the same raw stab in the heart on this day. But tonight was different. Alec didn't just help him move on, he helped him heal. He was happy with Alec, he was happy with his career, he was happy with life. He would go through a million days of Kira leaving him if it meant that it would always lead him back to Alec. Even so, he needed to be alone in a room full of people. And what better place than a bar? He knew just the one in The Capitol. As soon as he walked in, he saw her familiar red curly hair. What irony. He smirked and continued to walk to the bar and sat beside her. "I am a director, but 'great' has yet to be determined. We'll see how our premier goes," he said and ordered a drink from the bartender. "And tonight's not a date kind of night. It's a little funny you should be here." When the drink arrived, he sipped it slowly. "You've been doing well at rehearsals," Oliver smiled at her. The old feelings of pain that once accompanied the sight of Kira had dulled. He found that it wasn't a pain at all, but just a weight on his chest. WC: 312 TAG: Kira Collins

Kira knew that she would have to try hard not to be better despite her passive-aggressive tendencies. The red-haired woman would usually resort to that, as she usually did, but she had to be civil. Especially tonight. She was already walking on eggshells with the crew and the people in Oliver's circle. Miles and Alec were more or less distrustful of her, maybe to the point where they flat out disliked her. She would normally be spiteful back, but she tried to keep her peace and respect them as long as they respected her professionally. Oliver was a completely different ballgame when it came to that. She couldn't get a read on him for the life of her. Since rehearsals started, she always got nothing from Oliver. She could tell he felt absolutely nothing for her. To her, that was almost worse than feeling hate towards her.
She laughed when he said that he wasn't great. He was the biggest, hottest director in the Capitol right now. He was the only director touring Panem with one of the most important topics in history. Of course he was great. He was at the top. If he didn't realize that now, she didn't know if he ever would. She took a sip of her alcohol. She knew getting drunk was an awful idea with Oliver's recent bar appearance. When he said that it was a little funny that she was here, she raised an eyebrow. "Huh," she said towards that. She didn't know how to feel about that. Maybe he found that it was ironic that she was here because she left him. He still didn't know the whole story. He only cared that she left him. It pissed her off, but instead, she drank to suppress her voice. She had to be civil. She was done being angry at Oliver.
He said that she had been doing well. She flashed a smile at that. "Thanks." Kira said. She knew she had been doing well, as cocky as that sounded. She worked every single day for thirteen hours a day. If she didn't have most of her dances and songs down to almost perfection, she would beat herself up about it. Kira was glad that he noticed, at least. Maybe he was just saying that to be nice, or maybe he genuinely believed that. She couldn't get a read on him, not really. "And you've been directing real well. The leads look great and so do everybody else. You should be proud." She took another drink. The alcohol was breaking down her social barrier with Oliver despite the tension between them. She had to remind herself to slow down on the drinking, but that didn't help.
