I can't believe I just did that..Harrison couldn't believe what he just did. He killed a soul, a live one. He knocked them into their death where they'll never be found again. It just happened, and Mr. Martial could have done something to prevent it. He could have ran ahead of her, not knocking her into whatever was below. He shook after that while running towards Raya Stardust. He could have just ignored her and ran the other way, but he cared too much. After knowing about how she felt, he had to do his best to help her in any way possible. If it meant killing someone who could or would kill her, so be it. Harrison couldn't ignore the fact that he actually assisted in ruining somebody's life, and their friends' and family's. He may have just gotten a grudge from all the people in that poor girl's district. It was as if his conscience was telling him that it was wrong and he should punish himself for his actions. Mr. Martial couldn't do that, however. He had to keep pushing through all the shit that made his head spin. Its not my fault.. he kept trying to comfort his mind, but nothing worked. His arms and legs kept shaking as he trudged away from that steel stuff where all the tributes fighting still were. It kept him from running at full speed, but maybe that was a good thing. Harrison couldn't just waste all his energy in the beginning and make himself suffer afterwards. There were so many people dead, and it was ironic, no, lucky, that two people from a shitty District like Eight could make it out alive without losing a limb or anything worse. His heart pumped in unison each time his foot touched the ground. He slowed himself down, trying to actually catch his breath. He ran almost a minute now at full speed, trying to catch up to Raya. She was as fast as him. That was a good thing because if they hadn't got out of that thing alive at full speed, one of them might not be on this long slope. He was about to say something, but he heard more screaming and movement of whatever was sliding down this mountain. It could have been so similar.. No, don't.. he tried to forget his thoughts, but he was faster in thinking than actions. He killed that poor girl. Harrison would never forget that. That poor, innocent girl may still be wherever she fell, getting burned alive or struggling to keep moving forward. She might even be dead by now. Just.. focus on Raya.. he calmed himself down, wiping tears from the corners of his eyes. It was surprising the liquid could even pour with the amount of sleep Mr. Martial had within the last few nights, but it did. He didn't let it show. Nobody. Saw. Harrison. Cry. A buzzing noise rang in his head. Was he dying, did something happen? He couldn't even pay attention to find what it was? It continued to ring in his head, but it wasn't exactly coming from there. He kept running at full speed, trying to just make it go away. The ringing got louder, and the more he tried to ignore the buzz, the more it increased in volume. As the buzzing was turning into screams into his ears, louder than the.. than the, the girl, he started to shriek back at it. It was louder than the girl's scream when Harrison knocked her off the ledge. No.. stop reminding me.. whoever you are! he screamed at whoever was making the noise silently so they could stop, but it wasn't something inside him. It was actually above him. Harrison didn't know that yet. He kept his head down in shame instead of keeping it up high in pride. The thing was, he wasn't proud of murdering someone. There were so many better ways to play the Hunger Games in comparison to murder, and Harrison was doing one right now. Running away from all the troubles. He was running away from his problems that would be constantly following him for who knows how long. Until his problems were dead, he wouldn't feel safe. Maybe after he might have some comfort, but comfort would be a long time away. The buzzing continued to pop around in his ear, making it ache in pain. It slowed him down just enough that he might scream, but that might signal people to come closer. All the blood-thirsty b*stards would come towards to kill the scared people. All those people were not Mr. Martial's friends, of course. The only people he would ever consider to befriend are the ones who are nice and wouldn't kill him on the spot. It popped up again before he could say something about it under his breath. His thoughts were always ripped out of him since the beeping began. He looked up, trying to figure out why it was him who was getting all the noises. He saw something in a small little box above his head. Harrison reached for the package. Just as he touched it, the beeping in his head stopped. That was what caused the beeping? Were they joking? They made him go through all that pain just to figure out there someone had donated him something? He shook his head, saying violent words under his breath. "You have to be kidding.. all this for some stupid lighter?" he mumbled aloud as there was a red lighter in the package. Woopty doo. He held it close as he left the package on the ground. His machete swayed along with his feet as the buzzing slowly faded away from Harrison's memory. His mind was putting itself back into order, and he could now think. Raya, she's up there, go get her! his conscience demanded Mr. Martial to go and help out Raya, who seemed to have some kind of bag along her back as well. Quickly spinning the bag off of his shoulders, he popped the lighter inside gently into the bag, ignoring its contents. He was still fairly close to the Cornucopia and its dwellers. Maybe when they were farther down Harrison could show Raya what he has and maybe make a trade. He might have some things he wants that she has, vice versa. He slid the backpack around his back once again, hearing the juggling of supplies in there. He ran a bit faster now, trying to catch up to his princess. "Raya!" he said at a normal tone. She was only a few yards ahead of him, so she'd probably here the sound. The drums--can't you hear them? Raya had burst out of the madness of the Cornucopia. She didn't know how she was still alive. But she heard the cannons in the background--one, two, three. She lost count after three, but she knew there was so much more than that despite not paying attention to anyone else in the bloodbath. She didn't know whether the girl from one was dead or the boy from nine or both from 12. She didn't care about anyone else but one. Her male counterpart, Harrison. She didn't know if he was dead, but she didn't see him get out nor did she see him bleeding out on the ground. Either way, the girl had to keep running. She didn't turn her head once. But she didn't know which was louder--the sound of her breathing or the sound of the drums in her head. Though she was an extremely fit girl, it was hard for even her to breathe in this hot, stuffy air that was blowing through the gray rock. Pieces of her hair were falling down from her face and sticking to her pale, sweaty skin. She just needed to get as far away from the Cornucopia as possible...as far away as she could before the Careers caught up to them. She didn't check her bag just yet, but she knew in an instant that there wasn't a weapon. Nothing sharp or cold was against her skin, and nothing big either. Raya was in the Hunger Games without a weapon. If she saw a whip, she would have grabbed it in an instant though she dreaded the horrible weapon. Though she hated it and it brought back horrible memories, she needed something like that to survive. Either that or a knife. But maybe someone could send that to her later. Focusing on leaving was the thing that was most on her mind. Not Thomas. Not the drums. Not Harrison. Escaping. And though those thoughts still lingered inside of her mind, she kept them at ease and in the back of her headache-filled brain. Rolling up the sleeves of the suit, she kept running. The dark haired girl heard a yell though. Maybe it was from a dying tribute or from an angry Career. But it was a sound that she recognized. Daring to do something she promised not to do, Raya turned around. She saw a boy right behind her, and she started to shield herself with her backpack. But getting a closer look, she knew exactly who it was--Harrison. She thought that he was either dead or left her to ally with someone else. Grasping her bag, she heard him say his own name. But there was something off about him. Something that she had felt herself. Depression? Anxiety? No, it was neither of those. It was grief. There was a grief in his eyes that could not be spoken, like he had a pain that went on and on. Giving a small smile, Raya was not alone. "Oh thank god," she said to him, running over to him. She thought that she would never be this happy in her life, but now, she was. "I thought you were dead back there. I'm so glad..." she said, unable to finish her sentence. She kissed him, glad that he was in her presence and not, well, dead. She then wrapped her arms around him and hugged him. "I never told you this, but I love you. I really do." Maybe it was the thought of him being dead that she knew that she loved him, or maybe it was just the love she had for him all of these months, but deciding to say it now was something that was hard yet easy for her. Out of anyone, she loved Harrison Martial.

#shortpostmuchsorry
He saw her lips perk up, even from their length away, and Mr. Martial returned it with a laugh. It was really odd that two tributes from Eight would make it out alive and in one piece, so maybe they didn't the unthinkable. Of course, last games and several others were like this one. Harrison tried not to remember that part of it. Oh thank god, Raya said as Harrison couldn't stop smiling in happiness. It was only the previous night that they made up from their fight, and now it looked as if they were best friends. And they are, maybe even more than that. I thought you were dead back there. I'm so glad.. she spoke with happiness and then came closer and closer to him. That was when their lips mutt. It was a shock of love zapping into Harrison's mouth, but he didn't try to resist it. He kissed her right back. Then came the hug, and Harrison squeezed just gently enough not to choke the girl.
I never told you this, but I love you. I really do. Raya's last set of words for a while comforted him the most. She actually loved him. Harrison loved her from the start and admitted it many times, but Raya said it now. He loved that part of her because she took the time to think about her actions and who she might actually love. "Tell me something I don't know.." he said with a laugh, gently letting go of her. He crouched down, unzipping the backpack. He breathed heavily from the work out he just made in two minutes time, but living was definitely a worth-while reward. He saw the lighter he got from earlier. It was tempting to return the beat into his head, but maybe that wasn't the music he'd want to here right then. Next he saw some kind of tarp, which was folded delicately. Harrison could tell if you unwrap it that it would be much bigger. Next was a flashlight and a wrist watch, things that could be useful at night. One so he could know what time it was, and the other so he could see what time it was. Then, he unveiled a fishing.. string? Or line, something that Harrison didn't exactly know what to do with. At the very bottom was some red rope. Harrison looked around in the bag, trying to find something he could give to Raya. He chose the flashlight and the red rope. Taking them out of the bag, he gently placed them in Raya's arms.
"Takem, he said quietly, reorganizing the bag. On the bottom was the tarp, then on top of it the watch, fishing line, and lighter. He kept the machete gripped tightly in his hands. He had to have some way of defense. Harrison wanted to protect Raya, and killing anyone was the best way to help her out. "We can-" Mr. Martial was about to continue his sentence about moving on forward, but it was rudely disrupted by blowing of cannons. Several people, Harrison didn't count, were dead and there was nothing left of them except burning corpses and dismembered body parts that would have to be sorted out so everyone was brought home with their own body parts. "We should keep going."

Raya sat down too and decided to look at her stuff. She had a Medical Kit, which would seem handy later on in a fight if she got hurt. She also has some sort of a stick that seemed to give off light through a chemical, though she didn't want to break it in case she needed it. She also had two food bags and two canteens, but both were empty. She figured Harrison would need a couple for his journey as well, especially if they split up somehow. Digging through the bag, she also had a bandage wrap that seemed to also be good for later despite already having a medical kit. Last but not least, she had some sort of line that had a hook at the end. She remembered seeing this in a book. A fishing rod, was it called? She heard that they used it a lot in District 4. It was something to lure in fish and catch them so one could use them later. It sounded like something that Thomas did.
"Thanks," Raya said with a smile. It wasn't a smile of happiness, but more of a smile of how lucky she was. She had Harrison, and that was all she could ask for. She was not alone with the drums, she was not alone thinking about Thomas. She had someone with her. Someone to console her. And honestly, she would give her life to save this boy. "Take these," she said, giving him the bag and the canteen. "You'll need them for later. She got up and zipped up her backpack, putting the flashlight and rope in there. She stood up and threw it over her shoulder.
Wiping the sweat off of her face, she nodded towards Harrison. "You're right. We need to keep moving before someone catches up to us, just in case." Raya didn't mention to him that she was without a weapon, but worse case scenario she could use the rope for the harming of tributes, and if it came down to it, the harming of herself. She wondered how many tributes were left, and how many were thirsty for blood. She wondered if they liked to kill, and she knew to stay away from those tributes the longest. She started to walk down the path of the magma, hoping to get out of this hot hellhole soon.

Harrison tried to ignore the fact that Raya was giving him items back, but he couldn't help but smile. He picked up a canteen and a place probably to store food, and they both felt empty. Mr. Martial would most likely have to find the stuff on his own, which wasn't too expected. Last games, a lot of people got food on their trip to the Cornucopia and by sponsors. Maybe to make survival harder, they made food a bit more scarce. When Raya agreed with him about getting away before someone comes closer and decides to assist in ruining one of their lives. Harrison gladly nodded as Raya continued to walk down the hill. Harrison followed.
He was with the girl who he wanted justice for. Sadly, they were both in the Games where only one could have justice. Even worse, Harrison and Raya were both protecting each other, in hopes for each other to win, but that may be a serious problem. If it came down to them fighting, would it be who decides to kill themselves first, or who is the better person to move on? If that was going to happen, Harrison would be dead in a heartbeat. "Race 'ya!" he said in a funny voice, seeing a forest of some sort up ahead. Harrison smiled before jogging down there, making sure he was sticking close to Raya.

Raya smiled when Harrison asked him to race her, so she nodded but didn't talk. She was lost in her own mind right now but jogged right beside him. She had just met up with the one person she loves. Maybe the last person she will ever love. But there might be a time where Harrison will move on without her, or when she will move on without him. Raya didn't want to watch him die. She didn't want to say goodbye, and though she knew she should be thankful for this moment, she couldn't help but think about the horrendous situation they were in. They probably had three days maximum together, and whether they split up from a unfortunate circumstance or one of them died, Raya had a horrible feeling that they wouldn't be together for long. In these games, luck or despair wasn't random. It was all based on who got the most sponsors, who was the most popular between tributes, and who would become the best victor in the end.
The two of them started to enter the forest, leaving the hot magma behind and feeling a cool breeze starting to blow on her face. She knew that tomorrow they would have to look for food and water, as though Raya wasn't going to be starving, she would definitely be hungry. She also knew that she needed to keep the crowd entertained. Saying "I love you" on Day 1 probably sparked some interest in the people, and tomorrow she would need to do something new as well as the next day and the next day. She was pretty good with people (she had to be since she was a prostitute), so keeping the crowd entertained shouldn't be a problem for her. Running away from the setting sun, she knew the day was coming to an end. Maybe she would survive Day One in the arena.
BOTH EXIT TO GO TO FOREST
