Peeta Mellark felt lost in The Capitol. He was taken, or escorted, as they said it, to a large building. He'd never seen anything like it. Even the train was beyond anything he had ever seen before. The rich upholstery and the crystals were one thing, but the table upon table of food was another. There were many different foods to choose from and it seemed never ending. He was on the train for a couple of days and the food on the table always seemed to change as if someone was replacing each piece of food. But he had barely even put a dent on the mountains of food, he wondered where they had gone and what the train crew did with them. Hopefully, they gave them so some less fortunate families. At least that's the best he could expect from the Capitol.
As soon as he was lead inside the building, the Peacekeeper informed him that it was the same building that the Tributes stayed in before they went into the arena and that he would be meeting a mentor in the restaurant of the hotel. As he followed the Peacekeeper, he looked up and walked in a circle, taking in his surroundings. The ceiling was so high he wondered how they ever got the chandeliers up there. The walls were painted with gold and the floor was made of marble. Everything here was rich, including the people. He stared at a woman with tall pink hair as she passed, her earrings making *cling* sounds as she walked on heel so high he wondered how she could possible walk on them.
Peeta had not been watching where he was going and collided with the Peacekeeper's back who immediately turned to him with a stern face. Peeta stepped back, looking up at the Peacekeeper as he held his breath wondering if the Peacekeeper would hit him or flog him in front of everyone. But instead he stepped to the side and pat the top of a chair where a young woman with brownish red hair sat. Without a word, the Peacekeeper walked away and stood by the door they had come in, probably waiting for him until he finished.
Turning back to the girl, he smiled sat himself down.
"Uh. Hi," he said staring at her curiously. He was told that he had to meet with a mentor about the tributes, but no one told him anything beyond that.
