RAEDEN XIN
"I am somebody who is smaller in stature and yet who's strong, so to see the fighting situations between people who are not generally thought of being strong is in itself unusual and therefore interesting, I think." Rae was not as impressed with the Capitol as she was the first time she went there for The Gathering of Friends which took place not too long ago. She remembered how fascinated she was by it all. She assumed that her second time around coming to the Capitol would be just as lavish and extravagant, but it was not. The fancy dresses and amazing parties were over. Well, at least until night time. But she was not here for a party or to wear a fancy dress. She was there to help sponsor her Reko, the boy from her District. He was the only career left, greatly outnumbered by the non-careers. It was an odd predicament as by now, only the careers should still be alive. However, it seemed that there were many fans of underdogs. She could not help but notice that two people, one girl from District 5 and a boy from District 10 were famous with the citizens of the Capitol. Rae was not sure if it was because of their sponsors who were most likely very good at convincing people, or if the tributes were just that lovable. No matter, the careers this game were so egregious she could not believe they were actually careers. No wonder the other districts were still alive. But at least Reko was still alive and well. He was doing his district proud, although Raeden did not really have much interest in the games. Reko was from her District, though he had not needed anything so far, he was the only one left and would need help now more than ever. The people of the Capitol, including President Snow, were probably beginning to feel that the games were ennui from the serious lack of action. The previous trap set by the Gamemakers showed exactly how desperate the Gamemakers were for some deaths. And nothing, not even a career, was safe from traps. Traps that included the entire play area was just impossible to elude. Walking towards the cafe that she had seen the previous night she came to the Capitol, she noticed that there were many people walking about. They wore amazingly extravagant clothing, jewelry, and accessories-- no doubt people from the Capitol. And then there were a few who were so plain that they stood out from the rest. District people. A girl with blond hair and a plain dress caught her eyes as she passed by. A woman with dark brown hair that curled at the ends ate a piece of cake ebulliently. The woman looked familiar to her, but she could not exactly place where she had seen her from. Finding an empty table outside the cafe was an impossible task in itself, but as soon as she saw a couple leave, she went straight for the table and sat down. Rae picked up the menu and smiled. Foods. Drinks. TAG: anyone/open WORDS: 526

Returning to the Capitol wasn't what Judas wanted to be doing this week. He'd love a week off to just relax at home. Or time to do his work with the Academy even. But these Games were causing trouble. The riot, extra anger in general, and then there was the fact that the careers were quite disappointing. Though not obsessive with being up to date on the Games Judas did pay attention. Enough that he'd seen the cowardly female from his District get caught by Reko, and then today to see Reko go off on his remaining two allies. Something had to be done to help out these Games, and their remaining tribute. The career pack was gone so early, the lower districts were still alive. If Seneca Crane wasn't sweating things now he was an idiot. The Peacekeeper Commander had to do something, if for no reason but to quell some further riots and help a District Two win to quell some of that extra hope floating around the districts. If Crane wouldn't fix the Games and make the smart move, Judas could do at least something with some strategic sponsoring.
Reko wasn't smart but he was strong. He was tough and he was good looking. Judas wasn't normally the charmer but he had done enough around the Capitol to know what they looked for and wanted. Of course his dark clothing wasn't something that attracted positive attention, nor would his uniform. In any version. Sure the dark red coloring of his current coat wasn't the welcoming and colorful feel of the Capitol but at least it wasn't black. Or Peacekeeper white. He had managed a few days in District Two to relax and get over some of the upsetting events lately. No punishing actions had come to him from the Capitol and so he had been able to relax. Business called though, even if this wasn't in his job it was something he needed to do. He'd done it once or twice before, taken the time to come out to gather sponsors for a tribute. If Reko's situation didn't warrant the man coming to help him then there wasn't much that would.
So he made his way to one of the popular sponsor cafes once he arrived. There wasn't time to waste, he didn't have a lot of time allowed to come for such things. He was already calling on what was left of his limited free time, he was only going to spend so much on the giant idiot in the arena. His blue gaze searched the area for someone who looked easy to convince. There were certain looks to people that Judas had become very familiar with over the years. He'd prided himself in his abilities to understand people and read them before but now he wasn't so sure. His confidence was somewhat cracked after that riot. Luckily word hadn't gotten around of the cause of his injuries and deflated ego but it still existed. But he was at least trying, except instead of finding a Capitolite with good money he found a face he recognized. Not from his many trips to the Capitol but from back home. At the academy even. A young female on the Peacekeeper track, he spent time familiarizing himself with his students enough to pick them out in the crowd. Despite not expecting her, he still caught her here.
Quietly the Peacekeeper walked over to the table he saw the teenager sitting at. He was curious if she'd notice, or how fast she would. But his patience wasn't there to wait for a response to his presence. "I take it you are here to help that Reko kid in the Games, Miss Xin?" There was a formal tone to his voice but it lacked the normal commanding features that made an answer required. He wasn't here as her headmaster and if the answer was yes then they were here for the same reasons. It was a less formal setting and after everything that was actually a relief for once. The man didn't ask before he sat himself down at the table, thinking a bit before looking back to her. "The Games have been quite disappointing, I hope our boy can turn that around." He commented, looking to her as she looked at the menu. "Oh, and you'll want to try some of the desserts." He added in some attempt at a normal person's conversation. words// 743 tags// @raeden notes// Yay sponsor points!
