Oliver A. Bennett
NICKNAMES: Oliver AGE: 31 GENDER: Male RESIDENCE: Capitol OCCUPATION: Director SPECIAL INFO: na FACE CLAIM: Zachary Quinto PLAYER ALIAS: Eileen ❤
Oliver had always wanted to become a director. It was his life long dream. Even with the war on the horizon, he didn't care. He wanted to orchestrate a performance so captivating that people would forget about their suffering even just for two hours. But life, and his parents had other plans for him. His parents were politicians and so was his older sister. Being the 2nd born and baby of the family, he was left to his own devices and his parents weren't nearly as strict with him as they were with her. He could come and go as he pleased, but there was one thing he absolutely had to do no matter. Follow in his parents footsteps. But he couldn't. Oliver wasn't a politician. He wasn't brave enough to stand behind a podium. He wasn't cunning enough to snake his way through the corrupt and vile system of politics. No. He was an artist, and he wanted to direct. But it was a dream that would remain buried until his parents died and set him free.
His sister had it all, though. She was popular and charming; she could command an entire crowd to kill babies and they would. That's why she made a good politician. It was also why she was one of the first people the rebels tried to kill. But they had underestimated her, she lived through the war.
His parents died when he was 17. After that, Oliver chased his dreams. But it was difficult. The on coming war and his lack of experience made the journey difficult. He often found himself living with other people while trying to work as a script writer, the only thing he was able to do. And he wasn't that great at it. His sister, worried for her little brother, introduced him to a friend who allowed him direct a few shows at his theater. It was during this time that he met Kira, a young woman whom he began intimate relations with. Oliver thought perhaps he loved her, he must have. But there was always something missing in his life. After living with Kira for 4 years and directing only a handful of shows, the theater shut down. Kira left him shortly after.
With his life in ruins, Oliver went to live with his sister. He'd lost all inspiration and motivation to continue on, much less pursue his dreams. He lost himself at the bottom of endless bottles until his sister threatened to throw him out into the street if he didn't straighten up. But he couldn't. It was impossible.
Then, the war ended. Footage of the aftermath circulated the screens. And then his mind exploded in fireworks, an idea, the dream. He began working on a new project, a big one. The Dark Days, a musical. He begged his sister for help and tried each and every connection he had, at least the ones that were still alive. It took 8 months, but finally, he got enough support. This was what Panem needed. A distraction, entertainment. This was it. His dream was about to come true.
