Leliana may be a stripper, but she dresses in the most casual way she can when she isn't working. Her hair is down most of the time. She wears comfortable clothing, as she cannot afford any of the higher-priced things. She doesn't care about appearance much except for when she works, as she wants to make the most money possible.

PERSONALITY

STRENGTHS:Lily is a strong-willed person. She doesn't care what anyone thinks about her and her profession. She is also a very sarcastic and sassy person outside of work, throwing shade at anyone who tries to tell her what to do. She does have a heart, but not enough heart to care about anyone but herself and her family. She is very independent and is proud of herself.
WEAKNESSES:She can get very snarky, and sometimes her mouth can get her into trouble. She can also be mean when she is feeling down, which comes in the form of harsh comments. Leliana also hides the fact that she is poor, and she tries to redeem herself by going to parties with men for extra money. 

HISTORY

Leliana Hemwick had always had a hard life. In District 1, where everyone seems rich, her family was the shining example of that rumor being false.  At first, her family wasn't extremely poor. Her father owned a shoe shop and her mother was a maid in a rich family home. Both of her parents were older, with her mother being 39 when she gave birth to Leliana. The Hemwick's got by even if they didn't have the nicest clothes or the most expensive jewelry. They were a proud family, even if they could just afford to put food on the table for her and Cullen, her older brother. She loved to spend her days in the rich part of town, dreaming what it would be like to live in the big homes, have all the food one can eat, and wear the most beautiful clothing. She knew it would never happen to her, but she always wanted it to happen. 

When she started school, she had started to be bullied almost immediately. Lily was laughed at for what she wore, for how basic her hair was made, and for what her family did. They would make fun of the fact that her mother was a maid, and the girl that made fun of her the most was the daughter of the family that her mom worked for. School was hell for the youngest Hemwick, and though her brother stood up for her when she could, it was hard because he had to focus on his school. 

She started growing up harsh and cold to the people around her, not giving a damn what they said anymore. She never told her parents about what happened, as she didn't want to burden them already about the jobs they had. Leliana was proud of her parents until the end, when at 13, both of her parents died in the war of the Dark Days. They were drafted by the Capitol and died in the first battle they participated in.

Leliana didn't have a choice and dropped out of school at 16. She needed a full-time job to help Cullen, who was now 20, pay the bills.  She couldn't go to war--she wasn't strong and she wasn't old enough. Her parents never owned a shop that she could work in or had enough money to not worry about a job, so she took to a profession that wasn't a proud one but that would pay the bills: stripping. She told her brother that she had become a maid, but he quickly grew suspicious when she was bringing in more money than her mother. She eventually told him what she was doing, and though he was furious for that night, he never judged her again for doing it. 

For the next three years, she did enjoy the life she was living. Her brother was working as a clothes retailer, and she as a stripper. She went to lavish parties with men who paid to take her, was able to wear expensive clothing for a short period of time, and she was making enough money to put food on the table for Cullen and her. It was a dream job in her eyes, and though she was still harsh and standoffish towards other people, she still could enjoy herself. Only about a year ago did she recently take up escorting, but she does it in secret, as she is ashamed of that part of her life.

But the happiness didn't last. The night before her 20th birthday, her brother died at 24. He was murdered in cold-blood. That same night she found out that her brother only worked a couple hours a week in the clothing retail business and sold morphling to really bring in the money. He left her some money, but not enough to pay for the bills. She wants revenge on the man that killed her brother, wanting to show him that her life isn't some toy to be messed with.
