Ava's business was booming. Ever since the war broke out and she took over the secret business, she was better--and richer--than ever. She spent most of her time in the black market, doing shady deals with people she didn't trust. She always had someone watch from the back, or she might have sent a decoy in place of her. It was all the fun of dealing with customers who had to see the infamous secret broker. Ava felt like a queen in reign of a whole other world that the Capitol didn't care to know about. She always had time for herself and others when she wasn't required to have a real job. She was making five times as much as most others were making in the districts. Her cash flow had gone up since she allied herself with Aiden, who owned an illegal goods business. She was living like a rockstar, and she didn't want to live any other way.
Finn's Fusion, a crappy bar in the Fuse, was where she spent most of her nights. She drank, flirted, and toyed with men in the bar. Most of the men in District 5 were a game to her, one that she liked playing. She would mess with them, telling them untrue things about herself and District 5. She was a pathological liar to people that weren't close with her or who wanted to do business with her. But her stories were always accurate and she never got drunk to the point where she started spilling secrets. Ava was a complete professional.
"The usual, Finn," she said with a wink towards the owner. Finn was someone she knew for a couple years and had gotten secrets from. He heard a lot of things as a bartender in a crowded bar full of sketchy individuals. She had slept with him once or twice to get the secrets out of him, but she gives him business by buying his booze and he gives her secrets. That was how their relationship worked. The man slid her a whiskey, where she sipped out of it. The harsh liquid always calmed her in a way that nothing else could.
She scanned the bar, seeing some new faces as well as the usual customers. The Capitol was still trying to relocate people after the war, whether it was war heroes being put in the Capitol or criminals and useless professions being put in the districts. It was interesting to see the different types of people to come through the Fuse. Some of them illegally went from district to district while others were corrupted officials. She loved people watching, whether it was in a bar or in the Fuse, because she never knew what familiar faces would pass by.
She sipped her whiskey, her eyes on the customers in the tavern. Her red lipstick was staining the clear glass of the cup, but she didn't bother to notice. In the corner of her eye, she saw someone come next to her. She smirked. She couldn't tell who it was, but she was happy that someone was close to her. "Hello there," she said, not moving her head but directing her words towards the person. WORD COUNT: 541 TAG: Open! NOTES: First Ava post on Panem Today!

She honestly had no idea why she was in the market. She wasn't the type to do shady deals, or even remotely be interested at all in the black market. Why was she there? Well, she couldn't even find an answer to that very question. Maybe she took a wrong turn in the District? No, that was not the reason what so ever. She honestly had no idea what possessed her to make strides through the market. You could tell she didn't belong there as well. Most of the black market had a bit of tough to their look, and well Ame was the sweetest looking red head you probably could ever see in District 5. Believe it though, there was fire behind the red. She knew how to deceive anyone she came across as she practiced it on a constant, but these types were out of her league and even she knew that.In all honesty, she was just walking throughout the District, bored. She had gotten out of learning today deciding to ditch and just take a day to herself. There were times when she wanted to break away from the norm, and spend some time doing whatever it was she wanted to do for the day. She wished she could say no one noticed when she didn't show up for class, but that was a lie. She did well in Science, especially when it came to Geology type of stuff. It was her passion. Anything and everything about the earth, solar power....yep she was definitely a girl from District 5.She spotted a bar that looked rugged, but she was intrigued. This was new territory for her in the District and she had a sense of exploring. She was one to gather all facts. She walked into the bar without even a second look from anyone. There must have been a lot of younger teens that come in here, or otherwise she was looking older these days. Her blue eyes scanned the bar looking at everyone there. Thieves, dealers, everything you would expect from the black market area crowd. She also saw a few faces she didn't recognize from the District. Since the war, the Capitol was moving people for placement, or those citizens were jumping place to place trying to find a good fit.
She made her way further into the bar before bumping into a burly man that was built pretty well. His arms were about as big as her head and her towered her own height by at least a foot, maybe two. Intimidating to say the least. "Ow.." she replied to the man, not caring of him jumping down her throat like she needed to watch where she was going or anything. As she crossed the bar she heard a female's voice greet her. Ame stopped, and looked at the woman. Brunette hair, pretty. A little too much black though. "Do I know you?" she asked with a raise of her eyebrow.

Ava loved meeting new people. She already had so many people wrapped around her finger that she was starting to get bored. Everybody in the bar knew who she was, though she knew that they would have to die if she ratted them out. Many people were afraid of her, though that just gave her more power. But when it came to new people, that always meant a new challenge. The girl that walked into the bar seemed too innocent to be in a bar with mostly black market fugitives, though none of them were directly violent. Some owned illegal gambling businesses, others sold drugs, and the rest were individual sellers of things like Ava. Very few had been as successful as she was. People knew not to f*ck with her if they wanted to stay alive.
The new girl seemed to be lost, though Ava didn't seem to mind. Ava looked over at the girl. She was definitely a sore thumb in a crowd of criminals. Ava smiled at her, studying the girl for a brief moment. She didn't seem old enough to do business int the Fuse, nor did she look like she was wanting to do business. Maybe she was just curious. Ava didn't blame her. The people watching in the Fuse was extremely amusing. Ava wondered that, if Aiden were here, he would try to sell the girl something. It didn't matter though, as Ava didn't have any reason to be catty with the girl.
"No, probably not," Ava said with a slight shrug. "Nor do I know you. I know most of the people in the Fuse, but you're a new face." Ava pointed out the obvious. She was normally the only woman in the Fuse who had some class. There were other drug addicts and prostitutes in the Fuse, but Ava considered them the lowest of the low. She supposed that she appreciated that they were doing something with their lives, but that something didn't contribute to society in any way. She had no quarrels against them though, so she left them alone.
She hovered a hand over the empty seat next to her. "Take a seat, I'll buy you a drink." She nodded in a welcoming manor. Ava wasn't trying to pull anything for once. Like anyone, she wanted to get to know the girl and judge her after speaking. She wasn't just out to get anyone, after all. "You seem like a fruity drink kind of girl." Ava said, turning towards the bar. "A cherry vodka with lime juice, Finn," she said with seduction behind her voice towards the bartender. "So, what brings an innocent cinnamon roll like you here with all the criminals?" She referred to cinnamon roll as someone who was innocent, though Ava hoped she didn't take it the wrong way. Really, Ava had no idea if the girl was innocent or not. For all she knew, she could be a criminal like the rest of them. More than anything, Ava wanted to see how the girl would react.
