The Detection Training Station can help you in helping how to hide in the arena as well as learning how to become stealthier. This can be an important thing to learn in order to survive. Many Tributes who know they don't have the skills to use weapons may consider training in detection. Tributes have the choice in training these two techniques: camouflage and stealth. You may choose just one or both for your training. When training in camouflage tributes have the ability to use any materials and colors of their choosing. Camouflage can aid them in hiding themselves somewhere, as well as hiding in plain sight with the use of props, equipment, and other items available in the arena. You may practice in camouflaging in different settings (such as hiding in the woods, a room, a street, a building etc). When training in stealth, the tributes will enter a room. They may choose to have it darkened or brightened. They may also choose the setting of what the room would look like, and practice in as many settings as they would like. For example- forest, desert, a furnished room, an empty building, streets, a house, etc etc. The room will have between 1-4 sense sensitive holograms which will respond to your tributes movements/noises/etc when detected. Write a 200-1000 word response on what your tribute does in this station.

Basil had decided to test her luck at the detection station, where she would learn how to blend in with her surroundings and get lessons on getting her ass out of some tough situations. She hoped that with her calm, stealthy, yet loud self could get some use of this. So, she started. Walking up to the camouflage station, she had noticed it was a room and she would have to pick a setting to blend into. Basil honestly didn't know, a forest where you can hide in the dense trees, a desert, all kinds of scenes. After some quick debate inside her head, she--- well, the computer had decided that she'd be in a opening surrounded by trees. She would have to quickly gather her senses, get a game plan, and go.
Luckily, in her situation, there had been a paint package inside the backpack she was given for the simulation. The girl smirked, and dug them out. As she was looking around for a spot to camouflage in, Basil kind of felt like she was in the games already. It was so realistic, the wind was blowing, almost like it was a real place. But it wasn't, she knew that she was just inside some high-technological room that could create a simulation within a minute. She found a spot, almost perfect. There was a small opening nearby a tree, and there was a pile of leaves. Her idea, was that she could take her paint, and paint her upper half of her body the colour of the tree as the bottom half would be covered in leaves. She jumped, at the sound of a slightly feint yet quickly approaching something she didn't know what but obviously her time was almost up. She quickly got to work, painting with soft swishes a crossed her arm. She got done with her upper body, now she just had to cover up her legs and backpack. Spreading the leaves around quickly, as the rustling got louder and louder she finished it. Right before the tribute burst through the opening, she had put her back against the tree. She personally thought she was invisible to the world, but she wouldn't find out as the room faded out of color and her simulation was complete.
Though, this wasn't enough for the girl. She was now determined, and went to the Stealth area. She didn't even have a sudden blink before the simulation had started. It was a regular, bustling town square. As she saw a sign that most likely was the name of the place she murmured "New York City..? Where the heck is that!?". She was honestly confused on what this place was, but she suddenly heard a "HER! OVER THERE! STOP HER!" and the sound of a whistle. Spinning around, it seemed some kind of early-version peacekeeper was coming after her. This was the part where she ran. Without any hesitation, she had ran the opposite direction. Not a single word about her bumping into others, just focused on getting away and out. Now, she remembered that this was what the gamemakers wanted to see-- but she wasn't finished yet. Turning the corner into an ally that had to turns at the end of it, she ran. Her personal plan was to confuse them and get out-- which would hopefully be a result. She was just turning as she heard a gunshot, causing her to duck and continue running forward. It was kind of crazy, she was originally a good person.. But now, she was being chased down. She kept turning and running until she was pretty sure by the sound of no more footsteps was heard. She wiped her forehead, kind of trying to swipe off the sweat. Now she was done, tired, but done with her first station.

Today the light haired male deiced to try a survival station instead of another weapon station. He had been using weapons for the passed few days so, he figured it was good to be rounded. After a sigh headed for the camouflage station to try that. The light eyed male stared at the signs for quite some time as the trainer stared at him. When he felt her looking at he looked back. When trainer looked away he walked up to the table and picked up a brush. After dipping it in gray stuff he began to paint his arm like a tree. When he realized that brushes were non existent in the arena he threw it. After throwing the brush he dipped his finger in the black paint. He probably looked stupid but , he didn't care. The trainer stared at him again as he used the black to do the cracks in the tree.
As the trainer looked away he dipped another finger in a lighter grey cup. As he continued to paint on his arm , he could help but smile at his work. He was doing an awesome job in his opinion anyway. When he finished the tree design he deiced to do a different environment on his other arm. He was having fun so, that also contributed to why he wanted to do his other arm too. Oh my good job he heard the trainer say as he dipped a clean finger in the light grey again. This time around he was going to try and do a rock texture on his arm. As the trainer smiled at him he dipped his pinky in a different color substance to help make some of rocks texture on his arm. Calix smiled at how well this one was turning out too. When he finished with the rock texture he deiced to try and do a moss texture on his leg.
After pulling up a chair the boy pulled up his right pant leg. The trainer gave him a look as he dipped a clean finger in a green substance. The trainer continued to watch as he tried to draw the leaves on his lower leg. As the trainer blinked he dipped his finger in a black to add some depth and texture. As the trainer walked off he wiped off another finger with water. After drying the finger he dipped it into a lighter green colored substance. As the trainer came back he began using the new color on his calf. Next , he repeated the washing process on a new finger. When that finger was clean he dipped it in a new color. Good job so far he heard the trainer say as he used the new color to do some more texture and detailing. By the time the district six boy finished his calf he wanted to do the other leg too. Man i'm having too much fun with this he told himself inside his thoughts as he cleaned off all his fingers.

Harrison Martial was at his second spot for training. It was cold and quiet in the Training Area, but it wasn't because there was a draft. Mr. Martial just felt a bit.. chilly for some reason. Pretty quickly it was his turn in this 'Detection' training course. The trainer began to ask him questions about what he wanted to do. Stealth for camouflage. "Stealth definitely sounds cooler, so that one!" the boy said happily, walking into that side of the sector. From there, he was given the option to choose where he wanted to do his stealth practice in. "Forests sound cool," he said, confirming he wanted the forest section. It was a darker kind of forest, gloomy and lonely. There were trees with branches and leaves. Creatively, he began.
Harrison was given a few moments to get into a position. From there, he was told to begin. He had to walk around without getting caught for a bit of time. The holograms couldn't see, but they would probably be very aware of everything. Or at least that is what Harrison thought. He took very small and slow steps, keeping his feet flat on the floor. He stared at the ground and area in case of any noise making things. Talkative, Mr. Martial tried to actually keep his mouth shut for once. That is what he did. He didn't make a loud enough noise to be detected by any of the holograms, which was something a lower district tribute could be proud of. One more thing out of the way.

Unsurprisingly, Matthias was drawn to the detection station. After the overwhelming feeling of being in the training center filled with kids who might kill him wore off a bit, he went there first. If there was anything his artistic talent could do to help him survive the arena, this had to be it. Stealth wouldn't be his forte, as he had never had any idea how loud he was before, but camoflague was different. The normally observant and reserved boy approached the station with alacrity, smiling at everything that was laid out in front of him. If he could, he would spend all day at this station - painting everything. Getting paints had always been hard back home, since they were so expensive, so he usually had to settle for just pencils. This paint wasn't really meant for painting pictures, unfortunately, and he bounced up and down a little as he fought the urge to just start painting. If he did that, the other kids would probably ridicule him or think he was such a child. No one would take him seriously, just like no one had back home. Even though they all weren't on the same team here, the 13-year-old still cared about what the other tributes thought.
He told the trainer he wanted something as far away from open fields as he could get, so the first scene that was pulled up for him to try was a crumbling, abandoned city scene. It was full of rubble and old junk. Matthias stared at it, giving himself a moment to take in every detail of it. He would be drawing this tonight, that was for sure. It was so different from the beautiful, pristine Capitol buildings and much more cluttered than anything he was used to back home. It had an intricacy and depth that pulled at him to explore it all. The boy glanced between the paints and the scene, but as the ideas for the test started coming, he walked away from the paints. There was dirt and ash everywhere, which he rubbed over all of his exposed skin. It was itchy, but his normally tan skin became a similar color to the ground. He picked up a trash can lid and piled items on it: old shoes, bags, bits of wire, and anything else that looked interesting. He took his items to the side of a building, setting them down. There was an old tire already lying there, which would be the perfect thing to build off of.
Matthias picked up the tire, with a little effort, and leaned it against the building. Using his trash can lid as his other main item, he arranged his other finds around him carefully but quickly. Everything was lined up as an image in his mind that his hands played out. It was random in appearance, but everything was placed purposefully to hide parts of him while still allowing him to sit and see between his tire and lid. As soon as his motion stopped, the test began. Turning his hearing up a little, just in case, Matthias watched and listened as holograms were released on the area and started searching around. No one even came close to his hiding place, and after a few minutes, the simulation ended.
He wanted to try another one, so after cleaning himself off, he asked for another scene. This time, it was forest with a river running through it. Again, he took a few moments to just take it in. This was a part of nature he didn't get from home, and it too was beautiful. He took a couple of the paints with him this time as he entered the scene, though for his base coat he slathered his skin with mud from the riverbank. It was cool and slimy, and he couldn't help but grin as he put it on. Then, finding a tree, he dipped his fingers in the paints and stared painting his upper half. The bark of the tree was his inspiration, and he mimicked it with the paints. He moved to the bottom half, giving his legs roots and dark colors before sitting under his tree. Leaves and twigs around him finished off the cover, and when he was still the test started again. This time, the boy had a wide view of everything around him if he wanted it, but he closed his eyes. He was much more exposed out here than in the city scene. Holograms crunched in the leaves around him, and he tried not to get too excited at the mere fact that he could hear them. Even at a low volume as his hearing was now, he could hear so much.
Minutes passed and the test ended with no one finding him. Smiling, the boy stood up and brushed himself off. He felt like his first training session was a success. Maybe he did have a chance, and drawing had't been as useless of a skill as Aramis and his father had always told him that it was. Maybe it was the one thing that would save his life in the arena.
