Answer 3-5 questions. It doesn't have to be long, one or two sentences would suffice for each question-- but your entire post does have to meet the 175 word count requirement. You can describe your preparation for the preinterview as well as what you did after answering the questions and leaving the stage. If you'd like to stay and talk to Jasper, just tag him (@jasper just his first name). Just remember that he has other tributes to interview and all interviews must be finished by Friday. 1. Is there someone special back home? 2. Did you volunteer, and if you did, what do you hope to accomplish? 3. Is there something you'd like to say to your friends and family back home? 4. Without giving anything away that could hurt you in the arena, how have you prepared for the games? 5. Do you think you can win? 6. What part of the games are you not looking forward to the most? 7. Is there anything that you are looking forward to in the games? 8. What makes you different from other careers? 9. What makes you different from other tributes? 10. How do you think you did in training? 11. Who's been the most help to you during this time? 12. What do you think of The Capitol? 13. What do you think of the other Tributes? **Alright guys, so unlike the Parade where we tried to go in order by district, that is not a rule for this. I will try to get to the replies as fast as possible if you want. I've also prepared a bit of an intro for you before you get onto the stage. Jasper smiled to the crowd as he waved the tribute he was talking too off. Sure, he liked them all, but he could only pick one favorite. In his words, however, he had to make it act like they were all his favorites. This internship was difficult, taking his dad's place and all, but Jasper was ready to tackle the task. He began to introduce the next person. "Now, ladies and gentlemen of the Capitol! I would like you to meet.. @reko OR @jackbro OR @basil OR @triss OR @calixmaximoff OR @ariadne OR @legit OR @rayasavior OR @raya OR @lilith OR Matthias Jensen OR @jioudistrict11ftrib OR @eli!" He let the crowd cheer at the wonderful tribute before asking questions. Any questions pm staff or just ask on chat

Post by Matthias Jensen on Nov 12, 2014 19:49:27 GMT -7
Matthias was more nervous for his interview than he could remember being for...anything. Tonight was a completely abtruse situation for him; he had never before talked in front of a crowd or had so many people staring at him. He had the wonderful gift that the Capitol gave him, his hearing, but if he used it during his interview he might go crazy. There would be a lot of sound out there tonight, yelling and cheering. Could he really stand all that and still be able to answer any of the host's questions? But what if he turned his hearing off and couldn't understand the questions either? He'd have thousands of people watching him, waiting to laugh when he messed it up and said the wrong thing.
All through preparation, Matthias had his hearing off again. He tried to be more polite to his stylist crew than he had been before the parade, when he'd practically ignored them, but it was really hard. His mind was so focused on the interview, and messing up, and people hating him. Even as much as he had been bullied back home, he had always cared what people thought of him. Now, what people thought of him could decide if he lived or not. That was a scary thing to think about. He wished he could just sit down and draw before the interview, because that always calmed him, but instead he was being fussed over by his stylists. And then he was pushed out to stand in the line of tributes to await his turn. Caterina was in front of him, and it seemed like he had only been standing there a moment before she was called up.
Putting his hands over his ears, Matthias turned up the volume on his hearing just a little. He hoped the girl from 11 standing behind him wouldn't notice what he was doing, though probably the whole Capitol knew he was deaf by now. Or had been. Was? Who knows. In his cupped hands, the sound around him was kinda neat. It made him smile, everything sounding so distorted and hollow. He forgot for a moment that he was waiting to be interviewed, but was lurched back to reality when the girl from 11 pushed him a little. "It's your turn," he heard faintly when he put down his hands again. The boy went white, but made his feet carry him onstage.
Out on stage, Matthias stared into the crowd. It was full of movement and color like the parade, but the sound was there too. His hearing was very low, but it was on....and the crowd was still almost deafening. But they were all waving and cheering, so the boy couldn't help but smile and wave back. That did more to relax and excite him than any words or thoughts beforehand could have. After a moment, he turned the host. He seemed friendly and interested in Matthias, which helped the boy even more. He went to the chair that was set for him and tried to keep his attention on the host as the questions started. Sometimes there were pauses between the questions and the answers, as he fully processed them, but nerves combined with excitement kept him talking.
"Is there anything that you are looking forward to in the games?"
"I can't wait to see what it looks like," he replied honestly without really thinking about it. "I've never been anywhere different until I came here. I want to see lakes, and mountains, and forests. I hope it has some of those."
"What makes you different from other tributes?"
"Different? Well, I'm younger than most of them, for one," he said with a half smile. "I can read people too, kind of like books. Or paintings."
"Do you think you can win?"
That was a surprising question. Between training, drawing and dealing with his new gift, the young tribute had been pretty sufficiently distracted. He hadn't thought a lot about after the Games, about whether or not he would win. "Yes," he found himself saying, to his own surprise. "People underestimated me my whole life. No one ever really thought I could do anything except get out of the way, and now I'll actually get to show them I can do things. I think I can win."
"What do you think of the Capitol?"
Matthias smiled, finally getting a question he could answer easily. "It's beautiful," he responded, and he meant it. "It's pretty back home, but so different. I've never seen more color and people than there are here. Everything has its own personality, and I can't stop drawing it. How could anyone get tired of it?" He paused, debating about what he wanted to say next. "And the Capitol also gave me a present, something incredible." Unsurprisingly, he was prompted with what that present was. He probably shouldn't be saying this, but it seemed pretty impossible that they didn't know anyway. "My hearing. I've been deaf since I was four, and I never thought I'd hear another sound in my whole life. But now I can hear everything."
The crowd went wild and seemed to just eat it up. The boy smiled wide, because the power of that approval felt so good. The host then said that they'd run out of time. Before he knew it, Matthias was shaking the host's hand and waving again at the crowd before walking off stage. Once out of the spotlight, he let out a breath and leaned against the wall. It was over, and he hadn't made too much of a fool of himself.
WC: 941 Notes: Sorry I godmoded just a little. If you want me to change any of it, I will! Just didn't want to take up all of Jasper's time.

BUMP. Please do this by FRIDAY. It doesn't have to be long. And this helps determine how many sponsors you can get in the games.

Calix sighed as he stood back stage in the line with other tribute. Soon it would be his turn to get on stage and answer some questions. The blond honestly didn't see the point of this whole ordeal. But , he deiced to try his best and fake it like he was instructed. Soon it was his turn and he walked on stage giving the audience a wave and a big smile. A short moment after he took a seat he was asked the first question.
How do you think you did in training? Calix thought about the question for a few seconds he crossed one leg over the other. " Hm i personally think i did well. I 'm good art so, i did awesome at the camouflage section. That was pretty fun" he shared with a pleasant smile upon his lips.
Do you think you can win? Calix wrinkled his nose at the next question from the host. In all honesty he wasn't sure but , he deiced to keep up with his plan. " I think i have good chance if i put my mind to it. I don't give up and i work hard so, i d say that would work well for me in the long run. " He rambled a bit in a pleasant and confident sounding tone with a smile.
What do you think of The Capitol? When Calix heard the next question he deiced to talk this as a chance to butter up the capitol. That way he could get them to like him. " Its beautiful i'd say. You guys certainly have your own unique way with art and clothes. Its an artist dream i'd say. You guys remind me of a pretty painting." The blond said with a cheerful smile on his lips. Soon his turn was over and he stood up from his chair. " Stay beautiful and art like" he total the crowd as he blew them a kiss and then waved to them. After getting off the stage he let some air escape his lips.

Did you volunteer, and if you did, what do you hope to accomplish? Yes I did Volunteer. The small 12 year old girl that got reaped wasn't strong enough yet and it wasn't her time to shine. It is my time that I have been working hard for and I plan to shine.
Is there something you'd like to say to your friends and family back home? I just want to tell my twin brother Jasper that I will be home soon and that he better not go into my room while I am away! aha! I kid... On a serious note I want to tell my family that I love them and I am grateful for everything they have ever given me.
Is there anything that you are looking forward to in the games? I am looking forward to every aspect of the games. I want to show the capitol what I am made of and make a name for myself and bring prode back to my district. I am itching for some good action in the bloodbath too. Those other tributes better keep their eyes peeled.

Why do you even bother?
"Do you think you can win?" Reko laughed a bit at this and gave a slight shrug. "Of course I could. I plan too. It won't be easy but I am definitely sure that I could manage to do it. District Two has quite a few victors to live up to, and I am confident I can join them." He gave a bit of a smile toward the young man asking questions, despite feeling a bit displeased not to meet with Caesar but someone that could possibly be younger than himself. "I am going to win, and you will be seeing me again." He added with a confident smirk.
"Is there anything that you are looking forward to in the games?" "Quite a bit actually. Excited for the arena for sure. They are all spectacularly interesting." A bit of a stroke for the egos of the Gamemakers for good measure. He was fond of the arenas themselves but didn't quite admire them that much. But his smile grew as he watched Jasper. "Really, I'm looking forward to the challenge of it all. The Hunger Games is the ultimate challenge I could even think of taking. The stakes are high I'm sure it will be a thrill." His true answer was that he looked forward to the thrill of watching the life leave another tribute's eyes, being better than everyone else, winning. Having fun killing other kids and at the same time entertaining the Capitol hopefully to a point where they would love him. But saying he looked forward to killing people probably wasn't the best answer.
"What do you think of The Capitol?" "You're all spectacular here. You've got good food too." Reko smiled toward Jasper and then the colorful audience that he could see. He did like the Capitol. It was comfortable, nice, the food was good and the people were an endless supply of interesting to look at it seemed. He'd love to be able to spend an extended time here. "You've all got amazing taste in pretty much everything. I wish I could stay longer."
"What do you think of the other Tributes?" "They all better watch out. I'm going to come out the Victor, or I'm not going down easy." He said with confidence. The two exchanged smiles, Reko gave another friendly look and waved to the crowd before he was given the cue that his time was up. He exited with a bright smile on his face as he headed back. He was a confident tribute, that was for sure.
notes// Probably not very helpful but I have like... no muse for Reko at the moment.

Harrison Be Fancy in Silver Suits.
What makes you different from the other tributes? Harrison smiled when this Jasper guy, apparently Caesar Flickerman's son, asked him a question. "Well, I think that I'm sort of a weird, perky, and funny guy. Everyone else in the games usually take it seriously. But from the tributes I've met, everyone seems to be a bit relaxed and mellow. Being myself, I'm not either up tight or loose. I guess that make's me different, Jasper." He said with a smile, listening to the next question. Now, Harrison. I've gotten word that both you and your partner volunteered for the games.. why? It took Mr. Martial a second before he could really come up with an answer. He began, "Well, there's no real specific reason. Now that our main issue is gone I guess my volunteering it pointless. But it doesn't mean I won't try my best and win it for all you sexy girls and guys.." He spoke loudly and clearly through the microphone next to his cheek. Everyone loved the signature wink. Lastly, Mr. Martial. You seemed to have prospered well. Who helped you the most? Harrison didn't hesitate with this question. "Well, it hasn't really been anyone in my District Eight group, but maybe some of the people back home. I have.. eight, I think, brothers at home who're all older than me. I guess my favorite was my bro, Bane. He was always the nicest."

There's a kind of a sort of cost. There's a couple of things get lost. There are bridges you cross you didn't know you'd cross until you crossed them. Thomas' death. Harrison's space. Jaymis' absence. Even with all of these people around her and eyes watching her, she was so alone. Raya felt so lost in a sea of troubles and guilt. Everything had become hard on her as the weight was put on her shoulders. Death loomed over her head, a child clouded her thoughts. Everything was a mess, and the dependent girl had no one. The past few nights she could only fall asleep for a couple hours only to be woken up by a nightmare that made her scream. At least Thomas would have helped her inject morphling into her system. It was better than being alone. She was so scared to be alone, and yet there she was. The girl had no allies for the games, no bravery to fight. What was she going to do? Raya just hoped her death would be quick and painless, as the tribute would be getting two kills on his or her belt. It was the night of the interviews. Raya looked beautiful, as she always did, but she didn't feel beautiful. She felt nauseous, scared, sick, alone. Everything but beautiful or happy. She could feel the morphling in her pocket as if it were a boulder. It was the last dose that Thomas had brought--most likely the last dose that she would ever have. So she turned away from the crowded backstage, where everyone was in line. Walking over to a dark corner, she injected the drug into her vain. Raya knew that she shouldn't have, but she did it anyways. She instantly felt relaxed, but her mind was still jumbled. The mental pain she had was now subdued and numb. The girl now felt emotionless. Harrison had went before her in the interview and said his volunteering was pointless. Normally, she would feel sad. But tonight, while on the drug, she was quite upset. She cursed at him under her breath. Raya didn't want to ally with him anymore. He was a jerk. He wasn't much better than Thomas, actually. She was dumb for thinking he was different. He was just like all of the other heartless Peacekeepers. Running her hands through her hair, it was her turn. She threw the needle on the floor and walked out onto the stage as she was approached with bright lights that blinded her for a brief moment. She heard clapping and screaming from the crowd. She gave a small smile towards them, afraid of what they would think of her. Tucking a loose piece of hair behind her ear, she approached the young man and sat beside him as the previous tributes had done. She waited for the crowd to die down, and then she finally heard Jasper talk. Her vision was quite blurry and she felt weird, but she hoped that she could be herself even though it was doubtful. Did you volunteer, and if you did, what did you hope to accomplish?Raya knew the answer to this one in a heartbeat, but she knew it wasn't the right answer. Though this was a personal interview, she knew that there were right and wrong answers. "Yes, Jasper, I did volunteer. Why? Because I felt like I had nothing to lose back in District 8, but when I'm at the Capitol, I feel like I'm at home. I volunteered because I felt a connection to the Capitol that I didn't have in District Eight. It's amazing how one city can change your life." She said with a smile. Part of it was true, but the other part wasn't. "I don't think my volunteering was pointless." she said, slightly mocking Harrison's speech. Being high and angry didn't have a good mix. Her words were a bit slurred, but it could have easily been mistaken from the lack of sleep a lot of tributes have. "How do you think you did in training?""I think I did quite well, actually. My "working out" back in District 8 definitely helped with my agility and strength in training, and I think my training will reflect my performance in the games," she said, putting air quotes around working out. She could feel the headache coming on now. The drums...the drums were beating against her head. She wanted other people to hear them too, but she knew that was impossible. She wished people could feel the pain she felt and hear the drums that she heard. "Lastly, Who's been the most help to you during this time?"Raya felt so lightheaded, and she just laughed. Was he kidding? It was more of a laugh of sarcasm rather than a laugh of actual comedy. "Hm...let's see, shall we? First we have the dead victor and mentor, who injected me with drugs and raped me on multiple occasions. And then we have Jaymis, our escort, who is never there and doesn't give a damn about us. And last but certainly not least, we have Harrison. The boy who volunteered to "help me." The boy who can't get enough of playing with people's feelings. So you know what? I'm done with him. You won't be seeing us ally in the games. Oh, and I'm pregnant. Great, right? So any tribute who wants to kill me, you'll have two kills on your belt!" She said laughing and crying at the same time. Raya reached her breaking point. She was at the point of a mental breakdown, both in confusion and suicide. What was she going to do? Kill herself before the games started? She could only wish. As the drums pounded harder and harder against her head, she looked at the crowd and nodded. She walked off of the stage, not looking at the crowd but rather looking ahead. Lady Stardust was a broken girl before, but now she was shattered.

Ariadne knew that she had a lot riding on this interview. She wasn't really good at getting people to like her. Unfortunately, when Johanna said she was too rebellious, she was right. Not just against the Capitol, but in general. She had always done things her own way, even though it often got her into trouble. She wasn't mean, but she also didn't go out of her way to be nice either. And she did hate the Capitol. She hated that they took her from a life that was getting so good, hated that they had called her name, hated that she was here instead of at home, hated that they dressed her up and paraded her around like cattle. Those things wouldn't play out well for her well if she had any hope of getting sponsors or making a good impression with her interview. In her dressing room, the 18-year-old let herself be prodded and put in another dress. Apparently being comfortable wasn't part of what normal females did, but she let them do everything they could to make her pretty. It couldn't hurt, really. The one request the girl made is that they do something interesting with her hair. Both her and her mother had always been at a loss for what to do with their long, brown hair. It was always either down or in a ponytail when they were working. Normally, she didn't care about it, but the little girl inside of her had always wanted it. Her stylists transformed her plain hair into something beautiful ( this, to be exact). Her dress was a red and lacy ( and looks like this) and after a small battle, they let her wear flats instead of the ridiculous heels they had pulled out. Waiting her turn with the other tributes didn't last nearly long enough, and before Ariadne knew it her name was called. Alright, nothing sarcastic or rude. Shouldn't too hard, now should it? she though, quite sarcastically. She stepped onto the stage, letting the costume she wore take its effect on her. She actually felt girly, and the crowd was excited to see her. How was it that that made her feel kind of powerful? She smiled at the crowd instead of going with the terse look she had given during the parade, and sat down to answer the host's questions. "Do you think you can win?""Wouldn't make a very good show for all of you if I didn't, would it?" she asked with a friendly smile, which elicited a laugh from the audience. It bordered on a risky statement, but she couldn't help it. "But yes, I do. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to come home.""Is there anything that you are looking forward to in the games?""I'm looking forward to testing my own strength and skill," she replied honestly. Mentally, Ariadne had been trying to prepare for entering in the Games since before she was eligible, and if there was anything positive about all this, it was that. "Even though I didn't volunteer, I've been working toward this, in many ways, all of my life. I'm a born fighter, and I've always worked to be the best that I can be." After a pause, she added, "I'm also at home outside, so I'll be in my element." As opposed to right now, when she was trying really hard to give decent answers and hating the enclosed, crowded feel of everything. "Who's been the most help to you during this time?"Ariadne paused to consider this a moment. Several people had helped her prepare for going into the arena, each in different ways. Some of them were too painful to talk about, like her mother. Or they were too personal to talk about, like Dominic. Or they were just plain too confusing to talk about, like Calem. But there was one honest thing she could think of to answer Jasper Flickerman's question. "I think that not only now, but my entire life, my father is my strongest influence. He's always been everything I've looked up to since I was a little girl. He the strongest, kindest person I know and I don't think there's anything he can't handle. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or unsure about something, he's the one I think of, and it gets me through."With that, the interview was over. The not-so-usually-friendly girl gave a last smile to the crowd and headed off the stage.

"Now, ladies and gentlemen of the Capitol! I'd like you to meet Calem Fox from District 7!"
The crowd roared as Calem took a seat in the chair across from the interviewer, Jasper Flickerman. The tribute boy smiled and waved out to the crowd. He didn't really care about them too much, but if he seemed friendly enough, he could maybe get some sponsors. And sponsor gifts could mean the difference between life and death in the arena. Ever since his and Ariadne's little "talk" with Johanna once they arrived from District 7, Calem had committed himself to doing his best to get sponsors for them--get a good training score, appear friendly and confident whenever there were cameras, and now do this whole interview from that aspect. He just hoped that Johanna would send them any gifts that were sponsored, or maybe the male mentor could finally step up to do something useful.
"Is there something you'd like to say to your friends and family back home?"
"How'd you know?" Calem joked, and then turned to look at a camera. "But yes, I do, actually. Firstly, to my father, you better keep my axe sharp and leave me some trees to chop down when I come home! Wouldn't be fair to continue our competition when I'm not there, would it?" On the outside, Calem laughed and the audience laughed along with him, but inside, he felt ashamed for joking about his father. But he needed to do it to survive, and he hoped that Morgan and his crew could understand that. He searched his mind for a few seconds for something else to add; the Capitol wanted personal things. It wasn't too personal, but Calem thought the crowd would like it. "And to my younger brother, Trevor, I hope you can finally get your girl. I won't be there to help you, but I know you can do it. Just remember what I told you." The crowd awwed and ate it up. (OOC: Just to be clear, it's the word "aww" made into a past tense verb. Expanded my vocabulary by making new words >;] xD)
"[You seem pretty confident, Calem.] Do you think you can win?"
"I do think I have a shot at winning, Jasper. I know I'll try my best"--Calem turned his attention from Jasper to the crowd and smiled--"to not disappoint all you lovely people in the Capitol.
"Who's been the most help to you during this time?"
"Hmm... Well, everyone here in the Capitol has been very kind and welcoming, but I'd have to say my mentors have helped the most. All of their advice have kept me and my district partner's best interests in mind, and I can see why the Capitol loves them so much. It's sad that I've only gotten to know them for a week."
Calem found himself, again, waving and smiling to the crowd as he walked off the stage. He hoped at least one person would want to sponsor District 7. But even at the prospect of gaining possible sponsors, Calem found more satisfaction in the other thing that he had accomplished--getting back at Johanna Mason.
OOC: I just had to do it. Johanna may be eternally pissed, but I just had to do it. NPC male mentor to the rescue!
