It wasn't much of a goodbye. Lex and his brother looked at each other, they couldn't even say one word. What else could they say? There was nothing to say. Lex's eyes had teared up, but he quickly wiped it off. His brother pulled him in to a hug. They always joked with each other, but it seemed that now, they couldn't even do that. They were so different, Lex and his brother. His brother was tall, muscled, and had short blonde hair. While Lex was of average height, lanky, and had long thick brown hair. Anyone looking at either of them wouldn't have guessed they were brothers, much less related. Lex's brother squeezed him, it was all that Lex needed. In that one hug, everything was said.
That his brother loved him.
That he cared about him.
That everything he did was for him.
That nothing would ever be the same.
That his life meant more to him than his own.
That if he could, he would take his place.
That he had nothing without him.
And that if he died, he would have nothing left to lose. All bets were off.
When Lex's brother pulled away. His face was that of anger and sadness, but surprisingly, also of acceptance. Lex could see it in his eyes. And Lex wasn't going to argue with him. He knew what his brother would do if Lex died. Lex should have listened to Samantha. But it was too late for him. And for her. Lex didn't say his goodbye. Their silent was enough, it said everything they felt.
Everything tasted so good. The meats. The cupcakes. The bread rolls. Oh, how the bread rolls were so delicious. Soft and buttery and sweet. He couldn't believe bread could taste this good. Not after all the plain bread he'd eaten all his life. None of the food he'd ever tasted had ever tasted as good as the food he was eating now. Lex's mouth had become so filled with food that his cheeks resembled that of a hamster that was storing away food.
After a few minutes, Lex was finally able to stop eating, most of the food on the table gone. Thankfully, there was another table of food. Walking over to the next table, this time he picked up a plate. Then piled on 4 fluffy cupcakes. Each with different colored icing and toppings. He walked over to a blue cushy chair and sat down. His body felt relaxed, his bones able to release some tension. He had never sat in a more comfy chair. Even the chair was better than his cot.
Well, if he was going to his death, he was going to satisfy himself with everything he never had. And he was going to start with food.

Lex walked onto the train. The first train he'd ever been on. As soon as he walked in, he was met with cool air. They had a fan or some kind of thing that made cool air. His brows furrowed as he took a few more steps and went into the train compartment completely. The place was nothing like he'd ever seen before. Everything was clean, shiny, and crisp. There were chairs, tables, beautiful lamps and lights... Everything. Everything was just beautiful. Lex's mouth dropped in awe as he stared at every single thing. He didn't know any of this existed. How could they have so little in District 12 and they have so much on one train? Lex looked over at Samantha wondering if she was thinking the same thing. Anger began to fill up inside him with hatred for the Capitol. Then, Lex's eyes wandered and dropped on the tables of food. His mouth watered as he walked closer. The sight and aroma of all the food made his mouth drool and his stomach grumble. Without another hesitation, he began to grab any and every bit of food he could hold. Lex didn't even bother to find a plate or sit down, he ate everything right then and there on the table of food.
