It was late, but the Capitol was still awake. He couldn't believe how many of them stayed up past the night. It was like no one had anywhere to be in the morning. No work. No school. He supposed, in a way they didn't. It was mentioned to him that no one in the Capitol worked. All the people involved in the games weren't really employed. They were there for the fame and glamour of it all. Lucas had slipped out of his pajamas and put on the plainest shirt and pants he could find, then walked down the stairs until he reached the lobby.
He looked towards the wall and smiled at the Avox who was behind the desk, but she only looked down. Lucas wondered where @syd was. Though she was his mentor, Lucas had seen little of her the past few hours. Of course she could have just been asleep in her room which was in the same suite that he was staying, but he felt it would be rude to knock on her door in the middle of the night. Who knows what she would think, then.
Lucas smirked at himself a little, shaking his head. Johanna Mason should be the last thing on his mind right now. Any girl for that matter shouldn't be in his mind. He was walking to his death, there were more important things to think about...

-Holy poop so sorry posted on wrong character- Who Says You're Not PerfectJade never had to go down silly elevators to go to the lobby, as she had the bottom floor. There was less and less chances of her finding out that she had some real competition. Plus.. it gave her more time to talk to all the wondrous Capitalists who could end up saving her life. "Oh my gosh.. thank you!" She responded to one who loved her outfit. Jade loved these silly people. They were so perky.. just like her. But there was much more to this Game she had then she was letting on. Deep down, Jade was trying to win, not be nice and pretty. Her heart pounded as there was someone who didn't look like all the other Capitalists. In fact.. he wasn't. Jade watched the Reapings in her room, to get a better glance at who her competition was. And this one looked familiar. But where was he from? Jade didn't really care, even with that sexy body of his. Might as well pester some of them while it lasts.
"Hey hottie." She said, strutting over to the boy. He had blonde hair, and seemed about the same age as her. But from what she saw from him at first glance in the lobby, he was quiet. A little shy one. "I'm Jade."

Lucas turned towards a voice that had seemed to be speaking to him. He was caught by surprise when he saw a young girl coming towards him. She was beautiful, but she didn't look like a person from the Capitol. Lucas' eyebrows raised as he pointed an index finger at himself before looking around. "Wha.... me?" he asked wondering if he was making a fool of himself thinking that she was talking to him. He was used to getting some odd looks from girls, but no one had ever been so forward as to actually talk to him, much less call him a hottie.
"Ummm, hi," he gave her a small smile wondering where he knew her from. She looked very familiar. "I'm Lucas," his eyes wondered from her brown hair to her eyes. "Are you, uhh, a tribute?" If she was, he figured she'd be in one of the career districts. And she was up late. Most people had already gone to bed. Maybe like him, she couldn't sleep either.

Jack was wandering around. He wanted to see the area a bit more. It was actually really cool. He had met the other careers a bit earlier. Jack thinks the career pack currently is Jade, whatever the boy from district one's name is, Maggie, Kai, and Him. He thought it seemed like an ok group but possibly would be better if they had 6 maybe. He was thinking about who they may want in. The boy from eight seems to look a bit strong, and there was that boy from seven so obviously faking being shy. He really wondered how others didn't notice. Jack noticed down the hall were Jade and the boy from seven. What was his name again? It didn't matter really. He was going to die as well as everyone else.
Jack walked down the hall. He felt like saying hi to his fellow career and whoever that person was. "Hi Jade!" He said as he got nearer to them, "Of course she is a tribute." He said turning to the district seven boy. Oh... his name was Lucas or something Jack remembered. OoC: had to jump in before I went to Canada!

The boy, like she thought, was a bit timid. Jade felt like he needed someone.. someone to crack his shell a bit. "Lucas.. that's a hot name." She said in awe, walking a bit closer to the boy. "Of course I'm a tribute. District One. And I'm assuming you're from one of the middle districts.. considering I haven't met you already. Where are you from, Lucas? 5? 7? 9? 11? Those are really the only districts that could have so much muscle." She flirted with the boy, even though she really didn't have feelings for him. It was pretty natural for her to flirt with people she didn't know. But with this boy, he seemed different. Most people in District One always flirted, it was part of life there. But he seemed shy, again unlike District One members. Thank you. Jade heard someone speak out loud. There was another person there. Another person to mess with. "Hello! Assuming from your outfit, you're a tribute too, right? Small world! Or hotel if you wanna be literal." She spoke clearly and proudly. Jade was probably one of the more confident tributes. But why were there so many tributes in the lobby? Usually they'd have to sleep, Jade was just breaking the little rules to get people to like her better. But three.. probably more? There was a perky voice behind her, and she recognized it. "Oh god, Jack! How've you been.. since.. 'Lunch'.." She said, smiling. Jack was her fellow career, someone to pester people with!

Lucas gave the girl a small smile before looking down at his plain gray shoes that was provided for him by Johanna. "Thanks," he said looking up at her, "your name is pretty... ummmm. Pretty." Lucas stumbled on his words, he wasn't really used to saying the word hot. In fact, he never really talked to a girl in this manner. Whatever manner this was. "District 7," Lucas said before he turned to find a younger girl walking towards them. Lucas knew her, not personally, but he knew of her. She was 13 years old and was the youngest Tribute. It was impossible to overlook her, despite her short height.
"Hello Sahalie," he gave her a kind smile. She seemed to young to be in the games, but then again, the games didn't discriminate as long as you were between 12 and 18. Before he could say something else, another person walked over to them. He wondered if all the Tributes had trouble sleeping considering it was well past midnight now.
Lucas looked back at Jessica and gave her a nervous grin before rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn't sure if he should excuse himself and just head on to bed, though he didn't think he could sleep anyways.

Lucas leaned against the wall behind him. The little girl was far too young to be here, he couldn't help but keep the thought inside his head. In a week or so, she'd be dead. The image of her bloody and lifeless body kept popping up inside his mind. It was enough to make him feel the need to vomit. "Can't sleep," he said looking around. It seemed like no one could. "Everyone here is just up so late." He turned towards a window that showed the city outside. The noise was a little muffled by the glass, but they could be heard clearly in their merriment. They were celebrating.
"I don't think this city ever sleeps," he said. Somehow, Lucas had become less shy, but he figured it was because he was more or less speaking to Sahalie. She was just a little 13 year old girl. Nothing to be scared of there, if anything he felt the need to protect her and ease whatever issues might be troubling her. The girl reminded Lucas of his sister. They were nearly the same age, but his sister had a brighter and lighter blonde hair. "It's a little late for you, Sahalie," he said worriedly, thinking about each and every night he'd tucked his sister into her bed and kissed her forehead goodnight.

So late sorry
The boy she now just met was from District Seven. Which was predictable, what with all those muscles. She smiled and looked over to the other girl. Why was everyone up so late? The litte girl asked. "I don't.. sleep much, you could say. I just.. power nap. It helps keep your attention to your surroundings, helps you wake up quickly and murder people, y'know?" She smiled, looking over at the boy once more. "Oh, heck no. This city parties day and night. Almost like back home. Back at home, we used to have parties at our academies where we'd have tourneys. The best of the best won. A lot of fights took several minutes before one said uncle. Or if one shed blood. You knew you could go in the Games if you won anything like that." Jade spoke for a long time, so she had to take some deep breaths. It was obvious that she was here for a reason. Nobody volunteers for someone that can manage of her own. Jade looked at the 'Sahalie' girl. She was young, and Lucas said it was late for her. "Its never too late. A girl her age shouldn't have bed times." Jade walked bit closer to Lucas, so that was right in front of his.. amazing muscles. Her hand was now feeling his arms. "Nice." Dang i did it again Dx Sorreh

Lucas listened to the girl speak. He tried not to show any emotion at her words, she was a career and everyone knew what careers were all about. Johanna had told him all about them and what they were capable of. Jade might be friendly with him now, but he knew that once they were in the Arena her eyes would be on him for a different reason. Lucas's mouth opened slightly, wanting to protest about the young girl going to sleep. But decided against it. This was something he wouldn't win. Anyone could do anything at the Capitol, no matter what their age.
Lucas's eyes cast down at her hands that had found their way to his arms. The touch of her skin made him jump slightly. Her soft hands on his muscles made him a little uncomfortable. No one had ever really touched him on purpose like that. A lump formed in his throat as he tried to relax himself. His palms sweat and he could feel his heart racing inside safety of his chest.
"Ummm..." he tried to smile, but unsuccessfully. Lucas's eyes darted to Sahalie, feeling embarrassed. This was not something he though little girls should see. Although it was just a little flirtation, Lucas felt it too intimate for a 13 year old to be seeing.
"Jade, uhhh," he said trying to gesture towards Sahalie with his eyes and head nodding, hoping that Jade would get his little hint.

Jack was on the edge of laughter. Jade really knew how to psych people out. Jack could see that Lucas was worried about the little girl standing near them. As Jade flirted with Lucas, Jack noticed the small things. He felt as if he should bring the tension up a bit, just to help Jade along. He was on the verge of laughter, barely swallowing it in his throat. A small bit of it came out and Jack managed to pull it off as a strangled cough. Jack also did remember the contests Jade talked about, they had them in district four as well. Jack remembered that he won almost all of them.
The time was right. He thought he knew how to make the tensions bit tighter. "Hmm, would you rather if me and Sahahlie left the room, or should I cover her eyes for you, Lucas?" Jack almost laughed again. Lucas could make a useful ally though, his shyness act was very bad, so Jack knew he should make fun of him too much, he just couldn't help it. He and his friends would joke around all the time like this in district four.
_______ OOC: lol. Jack's trying his best to make Lucas uncomfortable.

Lucas could see that Jack knew this whole situation was making him uncomfortable. Instead of helping, he only joked about it, making Lucas feel even more embarrassed. He could feel the heat rise up to his face and his ears. If he could see himself now he was sure that he'd see redness on the cheeks and on his ears. Why did these things always seem to happen to him? And why couldn't he get a grip on how to handle them? Trees and axes, he knew. Women, not so much. They might as well have been another creature that he'd never seen before, much less knew anything about.
"Oh, cheese-puffs," he stated pointing at a nearby table with food. He walked over and picked out a cheese-puff from the pyramid that they had stacked them in. The Capitol sure knew how to feed people. Now only if they could do the same for the districts. "Never had cheese-puffs before until I came here," he said popping one in his mouth and chewing on it. The bread was still warm as if it had just come right out of the oven. The taste was salty and gooey at the same time, the whole thing was delicious and melted in his mouth.

Jade didn't like the little girl in the room. She seemed very uneasy with Jack and Jade in the room. It was probably because they were so intimidating. Lucas seemed gentle.. studded. Jack seemed to be sarcastic about Jade's flirting, wanting himself and the Sahalie girl to leave. Jade winked to Jack, laughing. "Cheese puffs? You've never had cheese puffs? Until now? I only had them once too, because it was break week and we couldn't really get out of our routine too much." She walked a bit backwards, to Jack. "Can we mess with him? Y'know, pretend we're a couple, and you could scare him a bit?" She whispered to him, looking at Lucas. Messing with the other tributes, getting them out of their A-game, was a good idea for Jade if she couldn't physically kill the person. And Lucas would be hard to kill without her lovely alliance members. Districts One and Four really seemed to be the power houses this year, but Seven, Eight, and Twelve seemed pretty hardcore also. Jade smiled, hoping Jack would go with her plan of messing with the 'shy' boy.

Jack smirked. He never had CHEESE PUFFS before? Wow, he thought, district seven must not have much. In district four cheese puffs were a regular snack food like pretzels, the careers stopped eating them though once they started their training. Jack looked toward Jade as she started whispering to him. "I think that's a great idea," He whispered back. Messing with Lucas was going to be fun. Messing with anyone was actually fun really. "It may mess him up and he seems a bit uncomfortable with it. I think part of it my have to do Sahahlie." He glanced at Sahahlie, then looked back at Jade, "He looked towards her when you started flirting."
Jack smiled in his mind. Know your enemy and then make them lose their game. A career tactic used forever. Districts one and four seemed to be the strongest so far in Jack's mind, but he also thought a bit that Districts Seven, Eight and Twelve could be a problem and he could see the other careers thought that too. It would be best to dispose of them quickly.

Sahalie just watched what was going on between the older tributes around her. She had seen people flirting back in her own district or well doing what Jade was doing to Lucas. She hadn't really figured out what it meant though. She'd seen her parents be all touchy feely as well so it didn't bother her. She was thirteen after all. However, the mannerisms of people confused her. She knew machines and the mechanics that let machines work. She analyze a system's working as well but people she just didn't get. She was awkward in situations such as this. She thought though that it was bothering Lucas a bit. She waned to hold her own around the career tributes that were standing around with her. "It's alright you know. Its not something I haven't seen before." She spoke up this time not exactly stammering over her words but it was still pretty obvious she didn't generally talk to people all that much. At least not in the way they were all talking right now.
She felt very out of place at the moment but she didn't say anything too it. As Lucas went for the cheese puffs her eyes followed him. She looked around letting herself get a bit lost in the noise of people around her. Still there was a distant hum of machines working away and doing whatever it was they were doing and the elevator was in motions again but she wasn't sure where it was heading or who might be coming or going from it as she was not facing the area at the moment.
