Sam opened her eyes quickly to get out of her nightmare. Ever since she had set foot on the train she had been having terrible nightmares. She bit her lip as she slowly sat up. She didn't even want to think of what had happened in all of them, but the one reoccuring theme just so happened to be death. Not her death, Sam wasn't very scared of that, it was the two people that she actually cared about dying. It haunted her every night. She wished she could go to her mom like she used to when she had nightmares, but her mom wasn't here and she wasn't about to bother Lex in the middle of the night. Effie and Haymitch weren't going to help, so she was on her own.
She put her feet on the soft carpet as she pulled a long sweater on over her shirt and loose pants. She sighed as she tried to quietly leave the room. Opening and shutting that door was the hardest thing she had to do in the Capitol, other than accidentally let a string of rather rude words towards President Snow. She went to the elevator and started to go down. She walked around a few halls until she had calmed down when she saw a little girl. It was another tribute, the youngest one. Sam bit her lip, debating whether or not she should go and talk to her.
Sam finally decided that someone that young in something this brutal shouldn't just be left completely alone, and she didn't look like a laughing kid should. Besides, Sam was only fifteen, the girl was thirteen so there wasn't that big of a gap. She walked over and sat by her on the couch. "Hey, you're the girl from District 5, right?" Sam gave her a small smile.
