We are ready to prepare for the war. We've come up with a list of information, if you have more questions, feel free to reply below or ask us on slack chat "#resolution".
1. Who's going to win?
- One of the rebel groups will win, and which one will be decided by voting. The voting poll will be announced when it's up.
2. Get our characters organized. If you haven't signed your characters up for the war, please do so now.
3. How the war will be planned?
- The war will be controlled and planned by the War Council. For more information on the War Council, please check either of the links above. We have two layers of the war council, one is the OOC part and the other is the IC part.
- The OOC part is where each member gets a say in what they want to happen in a battle, these take place in our "#warcouncil_ooc" slack chat. This chat will always be open for small discussions, but planning for the big battles will have schedule meeting times (to be decided). Things that we decide are the IC location of the battle, such as District 2. Who will participate in the battle, such Finnick and Johanna. And, if agreed upon, the outcome of that specific battle.
- The IC part is our characters RP-ing out the decisions we've made as members. For example, if we've decided that Finnick and Johanna are going to lead a team into District 2, Finnick and Johanna (along with whoever else is part of the war council that wants to RP) can RP what they talked about in their War Council Room. This can be done by doing in character posts on the boards or in character chatting by creating slack chat rooms. It all depends on the people who want to RP these events, although it is not required to do so.
4. How do we do battles?
[/ul][/span][/div]5. When do we do battles / start the war?- There are 2 types of battles.
- Planned: there will be at least 3 of these. These Planned battles will be played out Posting RP style. These are definitely going to be planned out by the war councils. There will be a large battle in the beginning of the war that will force one, two, or all three leaders to declare a full blown war. Then there will be a battle (or two) that will lean the war towards a specific groups' favor (such as taking The Nut in District 2). The very last battle will be played out by who wins the war. Will D13 get to Snow first and kill him? Will Alias get to D13 first? Willl D13 and Alias join forces to defeat Snow together? Or will Snow just destroy everyone in one go? ETC... (Remember, the outcome of the war will already have been decided by vote). These are like Katniss's battles in the book/movies, these are the battles that kids will study in their History textbooks. In short, Planned Battles have a huge impact on the war.
- Skirmish: these are unlimited and can be played out Posting RP style or ICC. These skirmishes do affect the war (but remember the outcome will have already been decided). These are small battles that can be planned and played out by anyone. For example, the December kids fighting against Mr. Malcolm and the Peacekeepers. Another example, a team from D13 going into D12 and fighting with Peacekeepers. A skirmish can be anything from fighting a hoard of Peacekeepers, to only a few, or fighting an entire district, or just a 3-5 rebels. These skirmishes are like battles that happened in the background of the book/movies that we didn't get to see. Although we didn't get to see them, they still impact the war.
- Our first planned battle (which will include the declaration of war) will be discussed during our first war council meeting. (See post below)
- However, you may begin skirmishes now. These skirmishes before the declaration of the war must be small. This is just the beginning. Start with small riots, shootings, bombs, individual attacks or small group attacks etc. These skirmishes draw peoples attention. People will begin to wonder, are we on the brink of war? Is District 13 still alive and are they going to rescue us from our oppressor? Is there a group of rebels who've taken arms and fighting The Capitol? These beginning skirmishes are also when groups throw their symbols up. Plaster your symbols, make it known to the people of Panem that they are not alone and a new dawn is rising.
6. Slack chat use
- Slack chat can be used for anything. There is already a room for official war council business (#warcouncil_ooc). Feel free to create your own rooms to plan skirmishes.
- Please do not create locked rooms for planning a skirmish.
- However, feel free to create locked rooms for secret war actions that you want to discuss with other people, but don't want the entire site to know just yet. For example, Sydney wants to tell Erin and Sara that Johanna is actually a Capitol spy who will turn against the rebels the last minute.
7. World Impact
- Skirmishes impact the world of Panem and the war. However, there are some things that we have to save for future battles or we simply can't allow (such as someone blowing up the President's Mansion--- I mean, your character can try and fail of course!). If a skirmish is going to deal a huge impact on the world or is a big deal in the war, please ask the war council first. To do so, just go #warcouncil_ooc and bring up the subject so that we may all discuss it.
