nothing can be altered
there is nothing to decide
no escape, no change of heart
no any place to hide
Pyra had so much on her mind. Even a month after the games, she couldn't think of anything else but that and the night she spoke with Finnick. He spoke to her and they drank. It was a heavy night, and it still lingers on her mind. She would be dead by now if it weren't for him. She also couldn't find the heart to tell Adam about it. She went back like nothing was wrong; like everything was perfect. She drank when he wasn't looking, but he was bound to figure out sooner or later with how much alcohol was gone out of the bottles. It took the edge off sometimes. Sometimes it just made things worse. Maybe she was miserable. She couldn't tell. She still didn't know what was going on with her or Adam either. Were they engaged? Were they even dating? Or were they just friends to keep each other's company? She still wore the necklace he gave her. He had been distant lately, or maybe it was the other way around. She was the one keeping secrets even after she told him that she would never keep another secret again. She was a liar, nothing more, nothing less.
She laid in his bed, feeling the burden of the lies she had told herself. It was a rainy day, and her family was working while her brother was in school, so she spent her time in Adam's home. She spent a lot of time there. Maybe it was to punish herself by being reminded of her lies, or maybe it was because she loved Adam. It had certainly been both more than a couple times. 'Adam won't understand' rang in her head. Every time she tried to tell him, every time she wanted to tell him, she had been stopped by Finnick's words.
The blonde girl got out of bed. She figured he was downstairs, having a drink or watching television. Pyra didn't deserve him. She knew he deserved so much better. Lies after lies came out of her mouth. She didn't know why he loved her. If he loved her. She was a terrible person without a doubt. She walked out of the room and down the stairs. She was not excited to confront him, but if she wanted to not carry her burden anymore, she needed to do it.
She saw him on the couch. She kept her distance just in case things got...messy. If he didn't hate her now, he would hate her for sure after this. She looked at him and bit her lip. "Hey," she said to him, giving him a small smile and keeping her head down. She looked at him though. He deserved that much. "I need to tell you something, and I know you aren't going to like it." Pyra was going to tell him, but she wanted an answer out of him first. It had been eating at her as to what the two were actually doing. "But I need to ask you something first. What are we? I mean, by relationship standards. I'm not even sure anymore." She didn't know what the two were, and that was the truth. She wasn't smiling anymore. She was so nervous. Her body was shaking and her posture was closed. She had crossed her arms. She didn't want to do this. She hated it. But if Pyra was going to save whatever the two had, she needed to talk to him now.
