Sahalie couldn't sleep and she couldn't figure out what it was that was creeping into her dreams. If she wasn't having a nightmare and screaming out for her district partner she was curled up in a ball crying because of all the new sounds and machines that she was not used to. She really couldn't take this well anymore. She didn't know what to do with all of it. So she had managed to find herself wandering around her district floor. She needed to find out what was making the hissing and squeaking sound. It could be one of the elevators but she wasn't sure which one and she really wasn't sure if it was that even. She didn't know these machines. She didn't know them well enough anyways. She had had the same problem with the train. She just didn't understand it all and it was far to overwhelming for the thirteen year old girl. She knew machines she could figure them out. But here she had other things she had to focus on. One of them being the fact that she had to get used to people.
The noises people made her just scared her. The laughter seemed odd and almost fake. Everything was loud and annoying and she had no where to escape for quiet. At least no where she really wanted to go for two long. Being up on the roof reminded her of the wind back in her district but the noise found her up there too. it was just the wind could calm her down. However, she couldn't hide up there and not get yelled at for doing so. She looked around and finally headed for one of the elevators. Maybe there would be other tributes down on the lower levels that wouldn't mind having a thirteen year old around them. The older tributes seemed to either pay her no mind or they just intimidated her because she wasn't sure how to talk to them. She never thought she'd be thrown into something like this. Then again she always knew it could be a possibility. She just wasn't sure what to do around people and she was trying to force herself how to.
She stepped onto the elevator and really didn't care where it was going to go too. She also didn't exactly notice that there as someone else there as she was too lost in the sound of something not working right and wanting to find it. The doors closed with a squeak which made her jump a little bit and the elevator jerked into motion.
