Are the stars aligning---Sean

Kalani was calming her mind. She usually didn't have much issue with nightmares and getting rest after them. She was one of those people that rationalized it out of her system so to speak. This one was all too common though. It was something she could take care of. Something she could protect the others from if she was with them. She could even save the house. She was sure her dream meant something though. It was just showing her these things hoping to get her to pay attention to what it was she needed to pay attention. She knew very well that she would be under fire rather soon. She would have to make it out of an arena that could kill her at every turn and twenty three other people. Twenty three other people that would at some point want to kill her because that was how it went. Twenty three had to die while the twenty-fourth stood as victor and she wanted to be the victor.

It took her a few more moments to calm completely down. She was humming a lullaby and it was Sean's voice that interrupted her. or rather she could put a name to the voice that she was hearing around her. She turned to look at him with a sweet smile on his face. He looked nice in the outfit he was in. Her's was a bit more revealing and if he looked closely with a light he would see the only scar she left on her body. It was usually covered with makeup but it wasn't right now. "No I couldn't sleep. What's up with you?" She asked sweetly. It was hard for any of them to sleep but the careers had it a lot better then the others. They were trained for this. Though she actually came in late she hadn't been training since she was able to walk like the others.

Kailani kept her eye on Sean for a moment and then looked back at the town below. "no they never do." She didn't like them at all. She really hated them actually. They walked around like they knew everything but they were simple minded. They were more sheep then the districts who were put into the games like lambs to the slaughter. He finally started to talk about her wound and shook her head. "Its not a training wound. I didn't get any in the academy that are that visible anyways." She at him and then back down. She couldn't help it at the moment. She began to giggle a bit with his next words. She really liked the way that he was talking.

"You would be right there. I'm not innocent but i wish I still was." She shook her head. "Jack can be a little umm I don't know how to say it. He can be a little odd sometimes. He kept telling me to calm down on the train and that we shouldn't worry." She somehow wanted to tell Sean everything and she couldn't figure out why. She was relaxing even more with him and she knew that in days they could kill each other. However, they were to be in the pack together for as long as the pack was around. "I'm Kailani though some call me Kai." She smiled at him. "Its a pleasure to formally meet you Sean." She started to laugh at his next comment.

"oh please now...We aren't much more than tentative friends if that." She shook his head. "He is so not my type." She laughed again and looked back at him serious. "I haven't in my seventeen year of life had a boyfriend...I've had boys that were friends but none that were like that. I'm a fisherman's daughter who was forced into career training." She looked back out at the crowd. "As much as I hate to say this being trained is gonna save my life." She smiled back at him.

The topic of boys was hard for Kailani. The only boy that had held a spot in her heart these days was her oen brother and that wasn't what was making her heart flutter now. The way he said brave the way he said her name. It made her heart flutter and it made her want to blush. She wasn't sure why she was not used to these feelings and she knew she had to shut them off. She couldn't get those feelings here they would only cause her problems but there was just something about him. Something that made her feel comfortable. Like how she felt with Annie but different. Annie was motherly this boy was well it was different. She couldn't put her finger on it. "Its best that I have no one like that to go back too. It would be too hard. I have siblings I have to fight for to get back too. We have to get out of our living situation and only I can do that for us now.

She shook her head about Jack. "He's only has the heighest scores because he simply isn't pushing himself. My weapon of choice is a trident. I trained with them in the academy. But spears I know how to use. I have to because i know how to fish. I'm good with them but the stuff that I've been doing in training with a spear it doesnt come as naturally as it does with a trident. Call it crazy but back home many people call me the daughter of the sea god." She smirked at that comment coming out of her mouth. "The ropes were my place to not have to worry. The rope course was nothing to me but I pushed myself to do things harder and harder. I'm still pushing myself to do so." She shook her head for a second. "Jack he just well he was just doing easy. At least it seemed like that to me. He won tournies back a home." She looked back then when he sat down she followed and sat down next to him.

When she heard him ask her about the forced part of her training she sighed. "its a long story Sean." She took a deep breath and then opened her mouth to speak again. "I lost my mother when I was young. Right after my little sister was born. My father couldn't think of keeping his children without their mother. Kona and I took up taking care of Mara. Kona's my older brother. Then dad brought home our stepmother. I didn't like her from the get go. She was nothing like out mother. She just had a cruel vibe to her. Well they got married and she never liked me or Kona. She adored my little sister. So she would do everything she could to keep us all apart but we'd always find a way. Then we lost our father at sea and all went to hell in a hand basket. We got barely a month to mourn. She was a female from a career family. he brother had been lost in the games. She was strict and she kept telling us we needed to go to training. Kept on making a point of it. Kona kept saying no and I kept saying no until it came to the point that she threatened my little sister and she threatened Kona. She locked me in my room and I couldn't get out and when she found out that Kona was trying to get me food. I heard commotion from his room and I found a way out." She took a deep breath and sighed. "I found a way to get out and when I did i found myself face to face with my step mother." She trembled for a moment showing a moments of weakness. "I fought her, i fought her long and hard and Kona had to drag me off of her. I sent her to the hospital. Because she had threatened my family. Because she had threatened what Kona and I worked hard to protect. The only things we have from father andmother our eachother." She looked away. "The scar on my back is from another incident. She tried to kill me after but what stopped her was my telling her that I had joined the academy. It was months later but she finally let it go. Until she got angry about things and she tried to take it out on Kona but I stopped it. I had more scars until the Capitol got to me. But I wouldn't let them take away this one. its the one that reminds me that i would do anything for them." She leaned against him.

"Please just don't tell anyone." She took a deep breath and smiled when he asked what she would do if she won. "I will take care of my siblings. I will get us away from the monster that wanted to abuse us all. I will help others. All i want to do is go home to them. Nothing too special. I just want to protect them." She looked at him square in the eyes as she was saying all of this and then looked away. "What about you what will you do." She leaned in against him again.

There was a sort of uneasy safety in Sean's arms. It melted Kailani even though she didn't exactly what to admit that that's what was happening. She was never sure how she was supposed to feel around boys. How she felt around him was so different from how she felt around Jack. Jack had annoyed her upon first appearances. He was the one who kept telling her that it was fine and that they didn't have to worry. She was the one that still worried because she wanted more than anything for district four to win games yet again. She needed Jack to stay alive for that. However, he wasn't going to make it home. Not if she had anything to say about it. She would find a way to kill him off. She would do her best to kill him when the time came. After all she had told Jack that she would stand beside him. However, things were changing.

Training had showed her that Jack was all about the glory. Actually being with him for this long told her that. She could remember the boy she knew from the Academy. She should have known he would be exactly like this. Sure he trained but to her it didn't seem like he trained that hard and yet he probably was for him. She had pushed herself because pushing herself was the only thing that kept her mind off of what was going on around her. They were picking out the ones that would likely die first. They were picking who they were going to hunt down. They were observing everyone because they were from the career districts. Even she was doing it. She wasnt exactly a willing career tribute but she was one of them none the less. She could not deny she had the observational abilities that they did. She knew who would give them a fight.

What she didn't know was how long the career pack could stay together as one. After all once they were done hunting who would turn on who first. She figured that Jack would turn on everyone first. After all it would be like him to do so. He wanted the fame and glory. He had no clue what that flame and glory would do to him. She had gotten close with her mentor. She thought she had a partial understanding. It wasn't fame and glory for long. You lived with the nightmares that never went away. You turned to things that would numb the pain. She wasn't so sure Jack would be able to handle that. She wasn't sure he was actually taking this seriously. She however told him that she would stay with him so that the fours would win. However Sean was making a pretty good offer though. It would be good to have someone else watching out for her too. It would make things all the easier. Still she couldn't be completely sure about the boy just yet. All these feelings and it was confusing her to say the least.

She was surprised that he wanted her to win. "Thanks, I wish the same if I do not make it." She really truly did wish the same. It was odd just the same because deep down she wanted four to win but she didn't want four to win if it wasn't her. She felt bad but she was sure that Jack would undestand. After all they were here to fight to the death. She knew his plan but she could keep Sean out of it maybe. She could do what she needed to do. If it was just the careers in the finale then well it would be a fight to the death between the pack. She wasn't sure they pack would last that long. After all, all their personalities mixed together for longer then a couple of days might drive all of them insane. It took her a few more moments to think about his off.

"You know what...Plans change, I have something set with Jack but well I will take you up on your offer. I will watch you back. We'll settle it fairly when the time comes. After all, either of our districts need to win. Plus I don't want four to win if its not me." She smirked to herself. She'd do anything to out last Jack actually and that was basically because she wanted to go home. She was sure that with Annie's help she would be able to take the pain that would follow. She felt like she could take it because after all she would be fighting to be able to protect the ones she already protected. She was fighting to show her stepmother that she had indeed made a killer out of her. That she was worthy of the respect she longed so badly to have. She would fight to get everything she ever dreamed off. She would win this because if she didn't she feared for her siblings.

She had to show the world that she wasn't just some little delicate flower. She had to let them know that she was able to take care of herself. She snuggled against Sean for a bit. She liked the warmth coming into her body as he held her. "Let's watch each others backs and make it to the finale. Even if we are taking out Jack together."

All of this was extremely odd. Kai was melting in the arms of a boy that she would only know for about two weeks or so. A boy that in order to get home she would have to kill. She couldn't think of it that way but she knew that's how it was going to go. She knew that every rule she'd been taught about the games was going by the way side right now. Rules were just guidelines to be followed anyways. You could break them ever once in awhile. Okay so she was rationalizing it with pirate speak. The stories of pirates was something that district four knew well. As a matter of fact there were people who could go around saying their were pirates. Kailani had thought of rules like the pirates of old had thought of them. It was the only wya to keep living through the life that she had had. Now she was here and soon enough she would be making choices.

Jack wasn't that bad of a person she knew that much. However, she also know that keeping two males on her side for as long as possible would be a good thing. She knew that at some point she would have to betray her own partner because that's how the games would go. She'd do it to protect him too. There would be a district four winner. She's just have to take care of Sean and the rest of the pack to due it. She would have these two men helping her out along the way. She would betray one but not the other but it was possible that betraying both of them to win would cause her to snap completely. Her heart was racing in the arms of the boy from district two. All these feelings welling up inside of her were hard for her to understand. Jack and her had made a promise. Promised that they'd fight each other only if they were the last standing but she would modify that. She would let him do as he wanted up until he decided to attack Sean. In which case she would protect the other boy.

Sure thinking about it now seemed like a brilliant plan, how it worked out in the arena would be a different idea. The cards would have to fall in line just right. Everything woudl have its time. "Thanks, I just knew at the time that I had to protect my siblings. When I smell blood in the games I might not be able to stop." She mentioned to him softly. "her name is Marris." She said as he asked about her stepmothers name. She almost growled the name out as well. She was watching the lights dance in the sky. There were so many of them that it was hard to see the stars. She let herself melt into Sean and relax all the more. All he said was fairly true of the pack this year. It was the same reasons the packs never lasted long in any year and why the fours sometimes weren't part of the pack. She just hoped being part of it this year would win them a victory or which two a victory. It didn't matter which at the moment. She knew that what they were doing right now would mean it would be hard for them in the end. Of course they would have to kill one another to go home. She found herself hugging him when he hugged her close. "Yes one of us will go home." She let that out In a sweet almost seductive whisper.

Kailani was trying to play a game that this boy was better at. Of course she was the female and she had started it. Females almost always started it. She liked playing this game or at least the butterflies in her stomach were telling her that she loved it. There was just something about this boy that she was perfectly fine with the fact that he was falling for it and taking it upon himself to make her melt completely into him. He began to nuzzle her neck and she opened it more for him. Then he was nibbling on her ear and a small moan escaped her lips. "Yes, we are here for a reason. There is always a reason." She mumbled softly.

She let out a small gasp as he pushed her down onto the roof. The feelings running through her were setting hers insides on fire. She was loving every minute of it. All of this flowed together like it was supposed. She was raging like a storm within the sea. Like she had found it once again with this boy and if a different way. Waves of fire and passion but it did matter. She could hear his heart beating how and why she wasn't sure but she could hear it. She was linking herself to the boy that now lay ontop of her. She was had been momentarily caught off guard and it felt good. She knew that this could be very very bad but she was okay with it. Some how being like a normal teen made her so happy.

Right here right now the games didn't not exist. It was only them on the top of the roof. Her arms wrapped around him bringing him in closer to her. He attempted to kiss her but he was only teasing then he asked her if she was going to keep seducing him and a small smile came over her face. Oh she could keep trying but there wasn't a point. She unwrapped herself from him and put her hands on his shoulders and flipped them over keeping him pinned lightly to the ground. She was strong and she was dangerous but right now she was playful. She bent down and licked his neck tenderly. She was straddling him as the moment and she knew what she needed to do. After all a girl when put in a situation like this wanting to go further knew exactly what needed to rise in a gentlemen's pants. She looked into his eyes. "I've stopped seducing, let us have some fun." She whispered softly. A playfulness in her voice. If there were camaras here they were about to give the capitol a show.

Kailani lay in Sean's shirt wrapped around him for the comfort. "we should probably get indoors." She whispered softly to the man laying next to her. She didn't want to leave the comfort of him but she knew that they would need to get inside at some point in time. It didn't matter when or how they ended up back where they were supposed to be. She was never going to hear the end of it later on. She was just in such a good mood. Nothing was going to phase her later on. She was too happy for it to do so. She couldn't possibly think of anything else but Sean at the moment. She kissed him softly and waited for a reply from him. Life had just taken a turn for the more interesting and Kailani couldn't help but be in love with it. She'd fallen for the charming boy and they had played eachother's games. This night could not end any better then it was ending. After all one had to have at least one moment of pure joy before things went to hell in a hand basket as it would soon enough. She didn't want to think about it so she just snuggled in closer to him as if any two people could get any closer.
