Mia Irid
NICKNAMES: Mia, if she likes you. Irid otherwise, especially at work. AGE: 26 GENDER: Female RESIDENCE: District 11 OCCUPATION: Peacekeeper SPECIAL INFO: Prized fighter from the war. PLAY BY: Gal Gadot PLAYER ALIAS: Erin
Mia was 16 when the fighting first broke out. It all escalated immediately. Although she was from District 13, her parents had always been Capitol sympathizers. Life wasn't truly harsh enough for the rebels to stir the trouble that they did. Sure, things were tough, but not tough enough to warrant a full fledged rebellion. Mia's parents, the moguls of a local graphite mine, were given refuge in the Capitol before the firebombs fell. In the meantime, Mia grew to resent everything about the rebels. They took from her the life she'd built in 13, and she wanted to make them pay. Picking up a gun and joining the fight as a soldier felt natural. Her parents disagreed, of course, assuming she'd join the casualties of battle, but ultimately the decision was hers. At 17, she stepped onto the field.
To the other soldiers in her unit, Mia probably seemed like a deadweight. She was short, thin, and had never held a weapon in her life before. It wasn't something that the other soldiers, particularly the boys, let her forget. They said the field wasn't a place for "someone like her," so naturally, Mia made it her place. She set for herself casualty quotas, wanting to rid Panem of as many of the parasitic rebels as possible. During her time in the war, she wanted to make it incredibly clear that her position was not to be questioned.
She grew hard and sarcastic as her position required it. Upward mobility and building rank didn't happen with smiles and compliments. By the end of the war, Mia prided herself something of a rebel exterminator and became well respected by the government. She was offered a permanent place in the Capitol to stay along with a position in the new President's Mansion - all play, no work, and large stacks of cash. Mia never accepted. She wasn't suited for office work - instead, Mia belonged out on the field in her uniform, a gun strapped at her side. She declined as politely as possible, instead opting to go into one of the most unruly Districts in the new Panem to continue fulfilling the duty she felt to her country.
