Born into one of the wealthiest Non-Career Districts, Amethyst is an only child to her parents, Colt and Raven. Her parents wanted a large family, and considering the population of the District it would be less likely for one of their own children to be reaped for the Hunger Games. However, after Amethyst, Ame as she goes by mostly (pronounced like AH-MEE), was about five when her mother found out after two failed pregnancies that she could no longer have anymore. It was a bit of depression that her mother never really recovered from. Ame seemed to learn it the most as she wanted the attention of her mother, but it was hard to get. It was like she blamed her daughter for not allowing her body to have anymore kids. SHe shut her out, most days didn’t even say a word.



Her father worked a lot. He was one of the workers in the main power plant that supplied power to the Capitol. He was always home late, and gone early. This had a huge effect of their daughter growing up. She felt alone, and didn’t get the loving emotional support most children tend to develop growing up. By the time it was time for Ame to start her schooling, her social life was a bit scarce. She didn’t know how to show emotion when talking to anyone. It was like telling an object a story or joke and expecting some sort of response.



She kept to herself, keeping most of her life private which she still does today. She doesn’t like people butting into her business or life. She is quick to defend with coldness in her tone of voice. She is unafraid to tell someone what she is thinking as she is very frank. She never really found a sense of humor to the world. Maybe it was growing up knowing that possibly one day she would never live to see the age of 19. She doesn’t really understand most jokes, and she will have a look of confusion reaction towards you if you tried to lighten her mood.



She is very competitive however. When it comes to school she exceeds as a student. She is fascinated with science and the works of the earth. Her goal is to one day be a Geologist. When it came to anything Science she thrives to be the best so that she gets that moment of recognition that she never received from her mother, and barely even her own father. The chance to win at anything gives her that sense of accomplishment and feeling proud. Worth something in this world. Striving in Science and learning everything she can, she has become very creative.



Does she fear the games? Of course, who doesn’t? However, she strives to do her best at everything and if she was unfortunate enough to be called at a reaping, she would do whatever necessary to win the games. She is not willing to let her dreams die for entertainment.
