Your melting heart was slowing to stop as your love lays dead besides you. The one you love. You had never thought about Torrence that way but it seemed the best way to think about it. You never knew if Torr felt that way about you either. You wished you could have had one last talk. One last wish. One last kiss that would have saved everyone except the monsters. The story of the world is cruel and unforgiving. You wish with all your might Serena but nothing happens. Ambrosia was right and you realize this.

Wishing is a waste of time.

You can here your heart beating slowly, almost like a clock. You don't want it to be like that. Clocks had always made you think of a countdown. Was your melted heart on a countdown?

You remember laughing as a child as your life flickers before your eyes as if on rewind. Torr dying. You holding him in your lap. Ambrosia and Lex dead on the ground. The fire that killed Sam. Then you hear Ambrosia's laughter from somewhere. You see yourself on the balcony with her talking about how wishing was useless and not useless. You wanted to hug Ambrosia, you wanted to tell her she was right. You wanted to be protected by her.

But now she was gone.

You want her back.

You are now in the orphanage where you spent most of your life, crying in a corner. You are at school, quiet in class, and you notice how Torr must have been in your classroom the whole time you were there. He must not have noticed you though because you were like a mouse.

Now you are in times to young for you to remember. With your parents who gave you up. You being at the doorstep of the orphanage. Your kind mother's eyes gazed over you sadly before crying and having her father pull her away gently. The mother bent over one last time and whispered in your ear, "Serena. We will always love you. Remember that."

Now you are nowhere. You feel nothing. Then light blinds you. You find yourself in a happy place now. You run up and hug Ambrosia and Torr and Sam and Lex.

And everything is perfect.
