That's why her hair is so big, it's full of secrets
Fara knew that this wasn't fair. She didn't want to have the disgusting transportation district, as whenever she saw it on television, the skies were gray and factories were blooming. And today was no different, she saw. The dark-haired girl wanted a district who at least had a chance of winning, like 1, 2, or 4 for instance, but instead, she got a district who seemed to die in the bloodbath every year. Not that it seemed to matter though, as she didn't really care who won. As long as the games kept on going and there was always a victor, Fara was happy. Structure and order was the key in a flourishing society such as Panem. The Games were vital in the structure, and without them, how would the peasants know what their place was? They had no power, and Fara wanted to keep it that way. She was learned that, without power, structure, and organization, Panem would have never worked out the way it did today and in these games. And one day, she hoped, she would gain a piece of that power by becoming the Head Gamemaker or even the President. She had the most powerful connection in the country, so she felt the need that it would happen almost indefinitely.
She got off of the metal train and onto the dirty ground. This place was vital to the Capitol, just as all districts were, but that didn't mean it was still disgusting. The nine Peacekeepers got out of the train as well, as her grandfather made sure that she was protected. She could easily protect herself though, as she could fight with her words. It was easy to find someone's weakness in their eyes and body language, and she used that against them whether it was physical, mental, or historical. And if that didn't work, she always had her knife that she would place somewhere not visible on her body. It was dipped in poison too, though she never had to use it. Still, she took it with her just in case things got messy in District 6. Fara was trained in the art of knife-throwing and sword-battling, as her grandfather thought it would be best if she knew how to use a weapon in case she needed it, especially if she became a woman of power one day.
She walked into the Justice Building, and her styling team did her makeup and put on a black and white striped outfit. It was simple yet elegant. She didn't want to look like one of those weirdos though--blue or green hair, dyed skin, and plastic surgery is not her type of thing to do. She didn't need any modifications anyways--she was already flawless. Fara had gotten her makeup done and her hair pulled back so the hat could place over her head, hoping that less people would recognize her with a hat on. These people obviously weren't the smartest minds in Panem, and though she appeared on national television multiple times, she figured that they wouldn't put two and two together.
When the victors arrived and everyone was gathering for the ceremony, Fara was waiting to be called. She didn't need cue cards or a paper to hold, no, she was a natural born speaker, and good at it too. So when they finally approached her and told her to go on stage, she did what she was told. With a smile and a confident walk, she looked at the dull crowd. It was full of grease monkeys and pity excuses for humans, but she addressed them as she would anyone else. Fara was an extremely good actress and learned how to address a crowd with a smile, no matter how horrible they might be.
"I want to thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to be here today, as this is the single most important event in the year," she said, speaking into the microphone and making eye contact with some of the children. "The seventy-third point one Hunger Games games are a treat brought to us by the Capitol, and it is an honor for all of you to want to represent your district. District 6 is vital to Panem's well being, and I am glad you are all supportive of your patriotic duties and following the law. We will now watch the annual video, the story about citizens who did not follow the rules and were given extreme consequences." Turning away from the microphone, Fara stood and watched the video. She had seen this video at least fifty times, and she was not joking. It was extremely long and quite dull, but she had gotten over it the twentieth time she saw it.
When the video was over, she turned back towards the crowd. "Now, I will call one boy and one girl to represent District 6 in the Hunger Games. Remember, one may volunteer. This is an honor, and I want you all to recognize that." Walking over to the bowls, she reached for a boy's name, claiming one piece of paper that was in the middle of the bowl. She then went over to the girl's bowl and grabbed another piece of paper. "The boy tribute," she said, unfolding the paper, "is Calix Maximoff." She said with a smile, not giving a care in the world who this kid was. "And the female tribute is Beatrice Wheels!" she said towards the crowd, and put the pieces of paper in her sleeve. "You have been chosen to represent your district with pride and dedication. Without the importance of you two, our games would be insufficient. Thank all of you for attending, and remember: Panem today. Panem tomorrow. And Panem forever." she said, walking towards the Justice Building. That was too long for her taste.
