(4 Correct, 5 Dead Ends) Lucas had been wandering around the maze, the thoughts of his life replaying in his head. He hoped that he could remember everything, especially if he was going to die soon. It was a morbid thought, but if he could remember his life, he hoped it would make him feel better about dying. But all it did was make him feel nostalgic for home. He thought about his first memory once more. He saw people dragging sheets out of his parents bedroom. They were white but had large amounts of blood on them. Upon thinking about it, he wondered what he thought of at that moment as the 4 year old Lucas Dare Gallant. He wondered if he thought his mother had died and that was what all the blood was. He had cried and cried, with no one to reassure him that his mother was fine. Everyone thought he just missed his mother because he hadn't been allowed to come in the room, so they all just ignored him. FBciQZwXdirection Words: 176direction

(4 Correct, 6 Dead Ends) OOC: omfg come on correct turns!
Lucas continued to think about his first memory. When the door finally opened to his parents bedroom, he saw her sitting up on the bed. Fresh sheets had replaced the bloody ones and he realized his mother was alright. Perhaps giving birth was a bloody process. Little 4 year old Lucas Gallant ran up to his mother. He jumped on the bed, wanting to hug her but there were two little babies sleeping on her arms. "Mommy, what are those?" he asked her. She only smiled, her eyes twinkling brightly. "They're your little brothers, Lucas," she beamed down at them. His eyes widened, "They came from your tummy?" he asked remembering that she had a large tummy and had asked why her stomach was so large compared to everyone else's. His mother nodded, "Yes, they did." Lucas was sure he asked a lot more questions after that. Something about how they got inside her stomach and how they got out, but all of it soon became fuzzy to him.

(5 Correct, 6 Dead Ends) OOC: Please give me another correct turn! xD
Lucas thought forward to the next year after his twin brothers births. It was most likely almost two years instead of one since he was 6 years old already. He had had two birthdays since then, and so did his two brothers. Their birthdays were perhaps about 3 months apart. Of course they didn't have large birthday parties. Only small family gatherings where there was a plethora of food, or at least more than usual since it included everyone of his relatives cooking a dish. He figured he probably had about 10 cousins from his mothers side, and 15 from his fathers side. His mother had 3 siblings, and his father had 5. He thought about how large their families were getting. He wished he had time to create a family tree like he'd always wanted to do, but he never really got around to it. Lucas promised himself that if ever made it out of there, he would make a family tree.

(6 Correct, 6 Dead Ends) YAY a correct way! omg please another lol: OOC
Lucas tried to recollect the birth of his little sister. She was a precious and sweet child. Her light blonde hair always shined bright against the light of the sun, like a moon's reflection on the night sky. If Lucas believed in something after death, it would have been something like his sister. Something pure. Something innocent. And something.... other worldly. One of his many regrets was that he hadn't taught her how to fight. He looked down, trying to shake off the thought that his sister might be reaped. She was about to turn 12 this year and would be old enough to be reaped by the next reaping. He had told them not to put their names in more than once and he hoped they would all listen. They were a stubborn bunch, but if they saw Lucas died in the games, hopefully they'd realize not to take their chances in entering more tessare under their names.

(7 Correct, 6 Dead Ends) OOC: YES!!
Lucas walked inside his parents room, followed by his two younger brothers who had just learned how to walk. They stumbled behind him, grabbing onto anything they could, including Lucas. He looked down at them and laughed before pulling them up and holding their hands, both on each side of him as they walked towards their mothers bed. There she held another little baby. Lucas and his father helped the twins up on the bed as they reached up to touch their mother and the new baby. "Is it another boy or a girl, mommy?" he asked hoping he would have gotten a little sister. She smiled at him, that same sweet smile. "She's a girl, Lucas," she said softly. Lucas smiled, his eyes wide. He looked upon the little baby girl who had a few tufts of blonde hair, just like the twins and himself. "What's her name?" he asked. His mother caressed the little baby's hair before looking at Lucas again. "Her name is Alana," she said.

(7 Correct, 7 Dead Ends) OOC: ugh! no, stop it! i'm so close!
Lucas was still walking in the maze. He pushed on hoping he'd find the end soon. In the meantime, his memories served as his drive to keep going. He had to make it out of there. For Johanna and for his family. He had to, no matter what. Lucas thought of the first day of his school. It was just before his mother had given birth to Alana. He tried to remember if he could remember Johanna in his class. A small little girl, probably smaller than everyone else, with dark hair and dark eyes popped into his mind. He smiled. How they had never talked before he had no idea. But he tried to remember all he could about her when they were young. He remembered they had once sat together during singing class, but he couldn't remember her voice. Only her smile. She was so much different then, so much younger with the innocence of youth and without the Capitol to defile her.

(7 Correct, 8 Dead Ends) OOC: PHEW!!! passed the "Dead" combo roll! WOoo!
Lucas smiled at the thought of Johanna. He tried to think of memories of her some more, where else had he been with her that had been lost to his memories? Lucas tried to remember what she usually wore. Little dresses, he thought. He wondered if these were false memories he was planting inside his head. Had Johanna ever worn little dresses when they were young? He couldn't imagine her doing so, but she probably had considering that's what most little girls wore to school. That or plain pants and t-shirts since no one could really afford anything else. Though winners of the Hunger Games were very rich, but there wasn't really anyone else in the District whom he could think of that had won. Until of course Johanna. He hadn't remembered watching the games when she had won. Like usual, he was out cutting down wood for the Capitol to feed his family. But when she had won, everyone celebrated.

(8 Correct, 8 Dead Ends) OOC: almost there! almost there! gawd i hate this so much xD
Lucas remembered the day that Johanna won. She had played a good game against the Tributes. They had under estimated her, as she had planned all along. Playing as a helpless little girl. But he heard that once she was in the arena, everything changed. Once she was a timid little girl who couldn't defend herself, and next she was a killer with an ax. Who knew that this little girl from District 7 could actually fight? No one saw it coming, no one of course a few people from District 7 who knew her well and knew better than to think that Johanna Mason was a helpless little girl. At the day of her Victory, District 7 celebrated. Their very own Victor. No one had seen it coming, though they all hoped she would win. She was a tough fighter. But when she got back, she was different. Lucas had never talked to her during that time, though. But comparing her to the young Johanna and the one he knew now, he knew she wasn't the same.

(8 Correct, 9 Dead Ends) Lucas had laid down to rest. Again, as with the previous nights, he buried himself deep inside the hedge. During the day, if someone had passed by him, it would have been thoroughly obvious that there was a hole in the hedge and that someone was in there. However, the darkness of the night offered him shelter in the shadows. He still was not sure if there was anyone else in the maze, but he was not going to take a chance in just laying down right there on the floor. Of course this time, he pushed the leaves in horizontally so that he could sleep laying down instead of standing up as he had before. He also made the hole inside the hedge much bigger so that he could spread out and prevent any aches and pains that he experience every morning after when sleeping in a small cramped space. His night was full of awful nightmares. Mostly of him getting chased down by hounds wielding swords.

(9 Correct, 9 Dead Ends) When Lucas woke up that next morning, he found that his body was becoming accustomed to sleeping inside the hedge. He was also pleasantly surprised that he had survived another night without as much as a peep from the outside world. He wondered again if the GameMakers had forgotten him, and if they hadn't, he wondered if they had a special surprise treat in store for him. His heart raced slightly from the fear of what was to come today. Lucas pulled his bag close and made sure he still had his ax and knife. Hoping that today would be just another day in the hedge with not so much as a sound from anyone but him. Of course, he wasn't going to get his hopes up too high. It would mean that he'd let his guard down. And he knew that if that happened, it would just be some bad luck around the corner ready to pounce on his guardless body. No. He had to stay alert. They were planning something, he just knew it.sq|QsGBedirection

(9 Correct, 10 Dead Ends) OOC: Screw you dead ends!!!! I want Lucas out of this!!!! UGGGGHHH!!!
Small rays of lights peeped over the hedge at the horizon. He was facing East, as he had done each morning. Or tried to anyways. Some parts of the maze turned him in certain directions, but he had started out going East and he wanted to continue that way in order to prevent himself going around in circles. He hadn't come across his make shift hedge homes, yet, so at least he knew he was not just wasting time returning to the same spot he had just been. As the sun rose up higher, he began to feel the cold chill dissipate with the warmth of the sun to replace the dampness in his skin. He figured the area around the Arena was probably wooded even though he saw very little greenery and more run down machines than anything while he had ran to the maze that very first day. His face fell when he remembered the previous night. 7kQag7h|direction Words: 177 direction

(10 Correct, 10 Dead Ends) Lucas's mind went back to the previous night when the sky lit up with two faces and the Arena was filled with that same music that he now had grown to hate. Although he was a little grateful that the boy from 4 was now gone, what was his name? Jack. He took a deep breath in and let out all the air from his lungs. Lucas didn't want to admit that he feared the boy, but he was a career and he knew that he was strong and skillful in killing. Lucas was glad to not have to have dealt with fighting him. He was sure that he would have probably ended up losing. But the other one, the girl. Lucas never got to know her, but she seemed innocent, as many of them were in all this. The only ones left that he was remotely close to were Kitty, who was from his District, and Sahalie, whom he had promised to protect. He was amazed that both had survived this long.

(11 Correct, 10 Dead Ends) Lucas had been surprised that the girl from District 7, the one who had been anti-social to begin with and had locked herself in the next car in the train during their trip to the Capitol, was still alive. How she managed to survive, he didn't know. But perhaps she, too, had some kind of secret that he didn't know about. He would not have been surprised, especially considering how Johanna Mason had disliked the girl to begin with. Perhaps Johanna knew something about her that he didn't. And if she did, why would not have Johanna had told him? Perhaps Lucas was thinking too much. Then, he began to think of Sahalie. They had met briefly in the elevator that first night at the Capitol. And it was in that elevator when they planned and made a deal that he would protect her any way he could. She had survived this long and Lucas thought he should try to make good on that promise. (12 Correct, 10 Dead Ends) Lucas wondered where Sahalie Avner would be. She was small, maybe she was hiding. Maybe she was in the maze with him. Lucas turned around briefly, trying to see if he should just start running and screaming her name. But no. That was a thoroughly bad idea and he knew that if Johanna was there, she would punch him square in the jaw. But he had to get out of the maze now. It had been 5 days since he'd seen anyone. What if Sahalie was in trouble now? He only hoped that she could survive long enough for him to get out. He needed to find her. He made a promise and he was going to stick to it. How could he not? He thought about Johanna and what she had told him. She wanted him to survive, needed him to. But how could he live a life after this if he knew he could have saved someone and didn't? How could he live with himself breaking a promise to a little girl?

(12 Correct, 11 Dead Ends) Lucas knew he couldn't break his promise to Sahalie Avner. But his heart was now torn between saving himself and saving her. If he saved her now, if he could get to her, then he'd have to kill her later if they were the only two survivors. But Lucas knew deep in his heart that he couldn't kill that little girl. There was no way he could do it, he wouldn't. Not ever. But then he remembered his promise to another little girl. His sister Alana. He had promised her he would try his best to come back to them and see them again. He sighed, shaking his head. He was a fool for making so many promises he couldn't keep. Lucas had never been a person to break his promise and now he had to break one of them. He couldn't protect Sahalie with his life and still keep his promise to his little sister. He would have to do one or the other. There was no choice. VP3kaQp|direction Words 175direction

(12 Correct, 12 Dead Ends) Lucas reached another dead end. He sighed and turned back around, then went the opposite way this time, hoping that he'd have better luck. He was doing good so far, though his feet were now beginning to ache. He wondered where he was in the maze and if he'd reach the end soon. This was the most horrible tormenting thing the GameMakers could do. He felt that if he hadn't been thinking about his family and Johanna that he surely would have gone mad by now. That's probably what the GameMakers wanted, to drive him crazy. Crazy enough to kill someone. He took another deep breath. No. He had to stay calm and sane. His sanity was what was keeping him together. If he lost that now, he'd lose everything. He thought back on what he had to do. First, he had to get out of this god forsaken maze. Second, he had to find Sahalie. And last, he had to try to win somehow. Though that last goal was pretty impossible. XqkFujoBdirection Words 179direction

(13 Correct, 12 Dead Ends) Control Room Dice Roll: 508. Sword
Lucas took a few more steps and his scenery changed. Mind, it was still inside the Hedge Maze, but it was larger and the hedges were not right beside him. He breathed out a sigh of relief, but then pulled his guard back up. What if it was a trap? Lucas looked left and then right and then all around the center. He didn't see anything, but that didn't mean nothing was there. Lucas watched his step, careful to not step into any trap that may lay await for him. He walked to the very center of the opening where a column sat with something glinting on top of it. He reached the center and looked down at a sword. Lucas stared at it for a few moments before looking up at the sky and all around. Where the GameMakers trying to trick him? Where they on his side? Or was it all a rouse. Lucas's head hurt from trying to think of all the possibilities that this sword meant.

(14 Correct, 12 Dead Ends) Finally taking a chance, he put his hand on the sword. He looked around to see if anything changed or happened, but it was quiet. Lucas picked up the sword and looked around once more. Quiet again. Just as quiet as ever. He held the hilt of it, surprised by its light weight and continued walking the opposite end that he had come from. Perhaps it was some kind of reward from the GameMakers. Or perhaps they thought he would need it for what was to come. Nothing had happened when he picked it up, so at least that part was a good sign. He only hoped that he wouldn't come across anything. At least none that he couldn't handle. He now had a 6-inch knife, an ax, and a sword. Lucas belted the sword through the hook on his backpack and kept the ax nearby. The sword was great, but the ax was his specialty. He had been using axes since he was just a small boy. JZKfmqNndirection Words 175direction

(15 Correct, 12 Dead Ends) OOC: SO CLOSE! One more correct turn!!!
Lucas's mind was wandering as he walked. He thought he should probably stop soon since his feet were getting weary. He didn't know how long he had been walking or how far, but looking up at the sky and the sun's position, he figured it was still morning since the sun was not too high up in the sky just yet. Lucas pulled his bag from behind him and pulled out a snack. It was some kind oats stuck together, but it was sweet with honey. It crumbled as he bit into it, so he made sure to eat it carefully to make sure he ate every piece without wasting. He didn't know when next he'd be able to eat. But he knew his food supply and water were about to run low. Putting his bag back in place and making sure the sword was still intact, he continued to walk down the maze, hoping that he'd find his way out soon. tDB0RpR_direction Words 176direction

(16 Correct, 12 Dead Ends) OMFG YES!!!!
Lucas looked up. Tears of joy almost spurt out of his eyes. He had finally made it out of that blasted hedge maze. He wondered what Johanna was doing now as she watched him get out. He looked around, the place looked deserted and things seemed to be far away from each other. He tried to spot the closest thing to him, but he was so confused at the area. Lucas thought his best chance was to just lie low and not do anything to cause attention to himself. He began to walk slowly at any direction, hoping he would find the right place he needed to go to. He had to find Sahalie, that was the main thing. But he had to do it where he wouldn't get caught. But where was everyone? He knew there were a few left. Maybe 8 or 7?
