The future is a barren world From which I can't return Both heartless and material Its wretched spoils not my concern Ava, after signing on with her new business partner, had gotten a lot busier than expected. From trading secrets, receiving them, and threatening people with her informants all over the districts, she wasn't playing around. The woman was more powerful than ever. She wasn't intimidated by anybody, and though she was cocky, she never let her guard down. She was a fierce competitor and the only person who dealt in trading secrets. That made Ava a powerful woman in Panem, though nobody knew her name, much less her gender or residence. She had few friends, but who needed friends when you already knew everything about a person there was?
This was especially true for the important people in Panem. Anybody from victors, mayors, officials, and everything in between, she got some juicy gossip and facts on the best and worst Panem had to offer. She loved when she saw people of important she knew in District 5, because all she would do is smile and pass them in the market. She always had the upper advantage, and there was nothing more to it. No matter where she was or how much she trusted anyone, she would always be prepared for anything to happen. This was both for people she was close to and strangers. She never left the house without a knife under her sleeve. This was a precaution in case someone tried to jump her. If she ended up murdering anybody, she would just get in contact with her District 5 people to clean up the mess and leave no evidence. It was a quick and simple sweep-up.
Her personal life, on the other hand, was more complicated than her job. Aiden, her new business partner, was also her bed mate. Often, they ended up sleeping together at Aiden's place. She knew she wasn't the only one, but she also didn't care. He wasn't the only one for her either. But he was the best as both a business partner and a man who suited her needs. Ava had grown close with Aiden, closer than she ever would have imagined, but it wasn't too serious. She never wanted it to be too serious because that would complicate things even further. She hated things to be over-complicated. It wasn't because she couldn't handle it, but rather she really didn't have time for it.
The 20-year-old woman went to get groceries a nice Saturday afternoon. The sky was always filled with smog, but even then, the sun was peaking out just a tad. Ava always walked with confidence, wearing a black dress and had her wavy hair up in a ponytail. She always looked classy, but not to the point where she looked like a frolicking whore. She refused to look like a slob out in public.
Ava then saw a woman walking down the opposite direction. She knew exactly who she was: Tatum Netherwood. She's read a lot of things about her that were more than interesting. Her lips shaped into a smirk. It wasn't a secret, but everyone knew she was the biggest slut in District 5. 42 guys and girls, if Ava was correct. And she was. She hadn't gotten any rumors if Tatum had a disease because of sleeping with so many men and women, but the brown-haired woman wouldn't be surprised. She was just another tasteless victor, and one that was disposable nonetheless.
She planned on walking passed the victor. Ava knew she drew attention with how she dressed, but she never really wanted to make contact with people. Unfortunately for the girl, she misstepped on the cobblestone and bumped into the victor. Ava liked confrontation every once in a while, and with how dramatic Tatum was of what Ava heard about, she knew there was a storm coming for her, and she was ready to put her claws up. But for now, she would play nice. "Sorry Ms. Victor, it was purely an accident," she said, her red lips drawn into a smirk. She said Ms. Victor in a sarcastic way. Rumor had it that she had slept with Aiden too, though she knew that the woman was dumb and too confident for her own good. Now the fun began. WORD COUNT: 749 TAG: @tatum NOTES: Hope this is okay! I also love this Emilia Clarke gif, it fits this thread perfectly xD

You're causin' an involuntary clenchin' of the fingers on my hand So, honey, move along and find a place to park yourself while you still can.
Tatum walked through the streets of District 5, looking around at the people as they all walked by. She pretended not to notice the people who stared and gawked at her. She understood why they would stare, after all. Half of them stared because she was a victor and they were terrified of her because they had heard about the things that she had done during her Games. The other half stared because they knew what she had done and they hated her for it. They hated that she had to kill Thaddeus to keep herself alive. One would have thought that ten years would be long enough for people to move on with their lives, but it seemed to linger still.
The brunette truly could care less about what people thought of her. She heard all of the talk in the district about what people thought, and while some of it was true, most of it was simply absurd. The one thing that people called her was a slut, and she always laughed at that remark. Not necessarily because it was funny, but because she found it to be quite entertaining that her sex life seemed to be such a hot topic in the district. Not that she minded, of course. Sure, every now and then the Capitol would send her escort to come out and have a stern talking with her. She'd stop her tendencies for a month before going back to them again, just waiting for the next visit. Tatum knew how to get around the rules, and that was something she was good at.
She ran her fingers through the curls that were in her hair as she continued walking without any particular destination in mind. Sometimes, she really just loved being able to walk around the district and clear her head. Most people never seemed to understand that she was still a human, somewhere deep down inside. She needed her alone time just as much as anybody. That was what she was seeking for that day: alone time to think. But then she came face-to-face with a woman whom she hadn't seen in ten years, and everything changed. She was no longer the carefree Tatum that she had come to be. She was instantly put on edge, and she ignored Cornelia's greetings, turning and walking away from her.
How dare she try and communicate with her after ten years. She had told her to leave, that she wanted nothing to do with her. Tatum had lived the last ten years alone with only the company of her short-lived flings in the mornings. Her mind continued to race as she walked down the streets before she felt someone run into her. She looked up and scowled as she saw Ava Paragon, rolling her eyes at her statement. "Yeah, whatever. Just watch where you're going next time," she said dismissively before continuing to walk. looking back to see Cornelia's retreating figure, to which she let out a sigh of relief; a sigh that she hadn't even realized she had been holding. She then let her attention go back to the brunette before rolling her eyes again as she let out a huff. "Actually, it's not whatever and I hope there isn't a next time. Because, frankly, seeing your face more than once a year is truly a shame."

Ava really hated people who had a big ego and didn't deserve it. Ava knew that she had a pretty big ego herself, but she didn't flaunt it around for everyone to see. She kept her ego silent but when she needed to use it, she would use it to her full advantage. This was especially true when someone screw her over on secrets. She would tell them how much power she had over them and how she could kill them whenever she could, and that usually just shut them up. She was powerful and she knew it, so to her, her ego was justified. For victors, though, their ego was built up because they thought they had power over people. Ava wasn't stupid and knew that wasn't true. President Snow held all of the power above them. While Ava had complete freedom because of her secrecy, the victors were just puppets to the President. Their ego wasn't necessary because if they showed too much of it to the point where Snow disliked it, he would kill them in an instant and make it look like an accident. He did it to the District 4 victor in the 73rd Hunger Games and he did it to the family of Johanna Mason.
In a sense, she respected President Snow. Not because of the whole Hunger Games fiasco and inherently evil personality, but because he was a man who used his power to get things done. She had all the right things in common with the man in the white hair. They both held a lot of influence in Panem, and they could both turn on someone in an instant if that person betrayed them. Every resource they both had to their advantage they used to the full extent. She didn't hate him as much as most people in Panem did, but she didn't praise him either. She just agreed with the way he used influence, though he was too much in the public eye in her opinion. All the power lied within secrecy in her opinion, because it could either be a scary man or an adorable woman behind the business. Ava liked to be the scary woman, though her voice was masked so they probably thought she was just scary in general.
Ava smirked when Tatum spoke to her. She was ready to take down a victor in public, nonetheless. She was going right for the gut, and she wasn't going to back off. She was the goddamn Shadow Broker, even if nobody knew it. She had to take a stand for herself. "I'm so sorry if I'm 'stepping in on your territory.' I know you can't stand to see my face because you're afraid you'll f*ck it. My bad too personal there?" Ava winked at her. She wasn't annoyed. If anything, she was having fun. She raised an eyebrow. "Aw, do you have your panties in a bunch? It's probably from all of the diseases you have down there. You should probably go pick up your cream." WORD COUNT: 508 TAG: @tatum NOTES: Hot damn lol

Tatum couldn't help the eye roll that came to play on her face as Ava spoke. She shook her head, listening to her as she spoke. She yawned audibly, making a bigger deal out of it than was obviously necessary before giving the woman a plastered smile. "Are you finished yet? Because it's really hard to give you a response when you just keep blabbering on and on without giving an appropriate amount of time for someone to respond." She chuckled humorlessly before crossing her arms as she stared the other brunette in the eyes, smirking before shaking her head.
"In response to your first question, no, not too personal at all, thanks. Though it might appear as if I have no standards, I do. Sadly for you, you're just not up to par with them. You walk around here as if you're the most attractive woman in the entire district. Really, though, you're barely mediocre. Men might find you attractive, but most men will f*ck anything with two legs and a pulse." The victor laughed before giving the brunette a faux pout. "The reason I truly don't want to see your face is simple: it makes me want to vomit. The gruesome deaths we watch every year when the Games are on are more appealing to the eye than a face like yours.
"And in response to your second question, my panties are just fine seeing as they're sitting at home and not on my person," she said before smirking as she flipped some of her hair off of her shoulder. "And those diseases that you seem so concerned about might exist. However, sadly for you, they don't exist with me. You see, I believe in a little thing called protection. Maybe you should try it some time considering acting like an irritable and hormonal raging b*tch is one of the first symptoms of pregnancy." She gave Ava a grin before moving her hand in a shooing motion as she walked around her.
"Now, if you don't mind, I have a very important meeting to attend with a handsome gentleman caller who just had to come back for more after he sold me a very nice bed," she crooned before waving goodbye and blowing a kiss before stalking off back towards her home, content to have a nice relaxing afternoon alone.
